Against Managed Decline

01/11/2023. Bletchley, United Kingdom. Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden holds a bilateral meeting with Dr Alex Karp as he attends the AI Summit. Bletchley Park. Picture by Ben Dance / No 10 Downing Street

I wanted to do a whole post on how Pakistan, India, Afghanistan and Bangladesh are running out of water and people are going to be fighting each other over it, but it will have to wait. Right now, I can’t really get over how stupid life really is when you think about it. Mostly, I can’t really escape the realization that we’re just in managed decline. Once you see it, it’s everywhere. Here’s what the CEO of Palantir, a real autist who points out what you’re not supposed to mention in polite company, had to say on it:

Karp is right of course. No person is completely evil, not even Karp, everyone has some virtue. Nothing here in Europe is really designed with the prospect of a genuine future in mind. It’s all just managed decline. Politicians without children, building an electricity grid that everyone can see is going to fail during the winter. Two tier policing, where crime by minorities is essentially tolerated, while the most acute priority is to combat “racism” by the natives. A whole society that seems basically just designed around the question: How do we maintain the appearance of normality until the last babyboomer has died in a nursing home?

I think there is this growing trend of young people who see what actually lies ahead of us and they just look for any possible way out of it. I think we see a huge trend of young people who try to enjoy the here and now and I’m all for it. For the boys that generally means speculating on fake Internet money, for the girls it means getting guys to pay you for posting your holes on the Internet.

I think with every year that passes, as everything gets more depressing and hopeless, we get more and more young people who realize they were born at the effective end of a pyramid scheme and they’re just going to quit trying to keep the scheme going. My recommendation would be: Try to enjoy your youth and live as if the world won’t be there in twenty years.

But it’s not just Europe, let’s look at Pakistan and India for a bit. The Indians withdrew from the Indus water treaty, they’re now saying Pakistan will not get a drop of water. So let’s say you’re a young man today and you live in Pakistan. You live in a country of 260 million people. Your population increased tenfold in a century. Your country’s population won’t peak until 2070. You look around you. There is no water coming from the tap. You have to buy your water from the local water mafia.

The country gets so hot that people sleep on their roofs. The aquifers are depleting, there will soon be no water to feed the crops. And India has said that they’re building infrastructure to make sure you don’t get a drop of water. You’re just part of a generation brought into existence at the end of a pyramid scheme. Same in Bangladesh, where thousands of villages are now getting government orders prohibiting them from pumping up any groundwater for their crops. It’s the end of a pyramid scheme.

In Europe, we always had the kind of realization since the 70’s that we won’t be youthful forever, that we can’t just keep growing. Hence the Club of Rome. European society just kind of adjusted to those insights, so we moved towards a kind of managed decline. In countries like Pakistan, that realization just never quite landed. There the pyramid scheme just continued.

If you live in Pakistan, your society won’t tell you: Hey this is the end of the pyramid scheme. No, the whole thing was built on the basis of people delaying gratification in exchange for a promise of greater future pleasure that never arrives. And that’s the message the whole thing will continue sending as it slips into its death bed.

They’re always going to keep encouraging you to delay gratification. But just imagine living in any of these countries, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan. In the summer it gets so hot at night that you sleep on your roof or on the street. You have to buy your water from the local water mafia. How long do you remain invested in your society? When do you just say: “Alright I get it, I see where this is going. I’m going to get out of here before the rest of you do.”

In the United States they never quite embraced the managed decline the way we did in Europe. Rather, they just plaster over reality with this techno-babble of this glorious future that is going to emerge somehow, an image only the dumbest of their peasants still manage to believe in. Imagine you work for Amazon, you have to piss in a bottle to meet your targets, but your CEO has a yacht worth half a billion. The fact that people put up with that bullshit, almost suggests to me that people just deserve it. The best argument against Marxism is still how much the average proletarian is willing to put up with.

But what depresses me, is when young people are just successfully strung along for the ride. When the adults manage to convince their children, to spend their best years of their lives, studying for a glorious future that won’t arrive. It’s essentially what Derrida and Fisher described as “Hauntology”: If you grow up as a young person in today’s society, you’re constantly observing ghosts all around you, imagery from the past of glorious futures that were canceled. And the glorious futures you’re still being promised, the promises that are still alive, one day you will recognize them as ghosts as well.

This whole cybertruck-cryptocurrency-nazi meme aesthetic of a future that young disenfranchised males are being sold today on the Internet is just transforming into another ghost in its own right, a kind of aesthetic that will linger on long after it has ceased to be believable: “Imagine being a Zoomer, believing in this autistic guy called Elon Musk who’s going to save the West and build a colony on Mars. You could literally just make a living as a guy in India by posing as a white nationalist on Elon Musk’s social media platform. I wish I was young in that era, it seems so cool!”

New generations will look back at our era with fondness, in the same way my generation looks back fondly at the late 90’s when we were kids, even though the people who were adults then were making movies like The Matrix, Office Space and Fight Club: The peak in aesthetics of 1999 revolved around how miserable and existentially empty the present actually was.

I think in a sense, it’s noble of the Americans that they’re unwilling to accept a future of managed decline. They don’t accept it at a collective level, but they hardly accept it at an individual level too, as the opioid overdoses suggested. They really are a people, who need a future they can believe in.

The problem of course, is that there isn’t one. The myths they’re promised about the future become increasingly ridiculous as time goes on. They were once promised flying cars, but now Jeff Bezos is promising them that humans will live in outer space and Earth will become a kind of global museum. Meanwhile, in the real world, the proles struggle to keep their air conditioning working. The discrepancy between what they’re promised and what they’re actually dealing with grows every year.

I think what I’m really hoping for, is for today’s generation of young people to really settle on a third option, beyond American denial and European resignation. I wish I would see them rage against the dying of the light. I don’t want these delusional Americans who think they’ll still be around in 900 years, nor these defeated Europeans who are trying to manage a dignified exit over the next fifty years. No, I hope to see a kind of wholesale refusal to accept that this is it.

Retard

This is why I bought 128 GB of DDR5 RAM and twin 5090’s – so I can just spend my days cooming to locally hosted text to video generated AI porn.

Big Bird

Oh, the retarded Jewel, with his ultra-modern masturbation machine! So perverted that they will literally die for a cheap thrill over and over again, such is the plight of retarded degenerates born into a life of Jeweled privilege.

Personally I’ve long suspected that the Musclemen and the Juice are born from the same family and are the progeny of multi-generational incest, and each generation becomes more and more retarded, and significantly more neurotic, to such an extent that the “always hard” masturbation machine addicted “Woody” Allen, would probably pass as normal . Eventually they will all commit mass suicide, which could be a good thing, except that, being the natural born homicidal maniacs that they are they will probably attempt to destroy the entire planet in the process.

P.S. Nothing against you Retard, but your post inspired insights I haven’t fully grasped before.

LSWM Lives Matter

And neither have I fully grasped some of your previous “inspired insights” either, Big Bird. Like that time you suggested that Cyber Viking might be some sort of organ harvester / human trafficker when he offered to meet Charlie the Scorpion in a public car park outside a Washington supermarket, but then several months later you instead “suspected” that Cyber Viking was actually a fake profile/account invented and controlled by Radagast so that he could troll us all for his own amusement.

Cyber Viking

Biggie Birdie is trolling maybe.

Either that or she’s a 40 year old woman who’s always drunk and blacking out, so we’re chatting with a demonic program inhabiting her shell instead of like, an actual human being most of the time.

LSWM Lives Matter

I don’t think she’s always drunk while posting, only occasionally. How often do you visit Seattle CV? There were six World Cup matches held there, did you see any international football fans? Also, have you considered uploading more YouTube videos? Those Skyrim commentaries were fun to watch.

Last edited 8 days ago by LSWM Lives Matter
Cyber Viking

Probably

I haven’t been to Seattle in over a year so haven’t seen any international footballs fan there, kinda wish I had now.

I’m glad you liked my videos lol, though that was Mount and Blade not Skyrim. I have considered uploading a few more videos. Actually I made some videos I never bothered to upload for that same game with different mods, so I think I’ll upload those real quick and link em here.

Cyber Viking

The first two uploads for the “Solid and Shade” series are up. Expect more to come, probably by tomorrow, since I have third world internet and don’t want to steal all the bandwidth when other people are awake and around.

Funny how these tiny little retards think everything is about them, and funny how they can be overly defensive when they weren’t even under attack. I didn’t name them directly, and wasn’t even talking about them. and by them I mean Cyber Viking and the LSWM Dork, and for them to respond this way suggests that they must have a guilty conscience, because why else would they respond as if they were under attack. It must be that I struck a nerve, probably they addicted to masturbation machines and imaginary fake and gay robot girlfriends, and absolutely without a shadow of doubt worship the State of IS NOT REAL, and they don’t like some lady calling out their perversions.

Also, I don’t get black out drunk. I drink india Pale Ale, two or three at most, and vape some CBD and THC.

Cyber Viking

Big Bird I love your posts keep being you. You’re like /pol/’s mother.

Retard may be correct about you and me, but alas my heart has already been taken and real women terrify me.

It’s good you don’t blackout drunk ok people who do that lose touch with what they do fast it’s awful. I’ve blacked out once in my whole life and I woke up to my room being a mess with vomit everywhere with no memories, I know people who do that regularly it’s horrible. I’m tired of drinking it’s not even fun most of the time.

Of course you depict me as a disgusting over the hill and out of shape bird man. When in reality I weigh 125 pounds and have the VO2MAX of an OLYMPIC athletic. But if you prefer I’ll take a break from posting here. I’m sure the LSWM Dork would be absolutely thrilled about it. I guess I’ll commit myself to training for running an ultra marathon in the 100 degree heat. It’s probably a more productive use of my time.

That’s a better picture.

That other one looked like some very sweaty Italian mob boss driving a Cadillac convertible through Miami, Florida in the early 80’s. It was not representative of who I am. This one isn’t either, but it’s more wholesome.

What is wrong with being a degenerate alcoholic?

I take pride in my binge drinking.

LSWM Lives Matter

You didn’t address any of my points, you just resorted to ad hominem attacks like you did the last time (and the time before that as well).

> funny how they can be overly defensive when they weren’t even under attack.

> and for them to respond this way suggests that they must have a guilty conscience, because why else would they respond as if they were under attack. It must be that I struck a nerve

> and they don’t like some lady calling out their perversions.

All those statements literally describe you and/or apply to you, not me. Projection much? All I do is write a seemingly innocuous comment, and you respond by getting EXTREMELY angry and abusive. Why? I honestly don’t get it. I wasn’t attacking you, so why are you attacking me?

No, your autistic brain isn’t capable of processing the implications of what I said. Your reply was completely irrelevant and completely misses the mark. Instead you bring up something I said in the past that you think makes me look like a crazy alcoholic who only leaves comments in the middle of the night when I’m shit faced drunk, which I’ve only done like once in the past year, and therefore nothing I say should be taken seriously.

Dude, you are so passive aggressive and you don’t even know it. The other word would be “anal retentive”. Maybe instead of looking down on my beer drinking habits, you might want to rethink whatever RX medications you are currently ingesting, because methinks its making you even more intellectually stifled than what you’d be otherwise.

Retard

You do realize that shit on the internet is just that – shit on the internet. Why so serious. You act as if the internet matters.

Retard

Now, back to my Tay-Tay porn. I need to edge.

Big Bird

“You act as if the internet matters.”

The Truth matters.

The internet is a powerful tool that facilitates and amplifies communication between people who would otherwise be geographically separated and completely in the dark.

Retard

The internet turned to shit the moment that the closet gay dude (that died from AIDS) invented the eye phone. Before that, only autistic skitzos had access to the internet. This was because you needed a brain to access the internet before dumb-phones. The moment that normies were given access to the internet in their pocket, everything turned to shit. Nothing in the internet therefore matters anymore.

Big Bird

No, I refuse to believe that. It might have turned to shit, but it still matters. Why would you say that? Have you completely given up on life? Are you living in your nuclear fallout shelter, waiting for the shit to hit the fan? Because they keep saying that, and it’s been an ongoing theme since at least the early 80s, and nothing happens, but most likely it will happen when you least expect it. The Internet matters because it’s a way for people to stay in touch, and ideally to communicate truth, before the real shit hits the fan.

Retard

I live on a remote island in the Pacific. I eat fish I catch myself each day and I have internet from the Aussie Down Under satellite service that they share with all the Pacific Islands (not Elon’s fake and gay rubbish). I know the difference between fake electrons (the internet) and reality (my fish). Internet is fake and it is shit. Internet does not matter. It means nothing. Ask Cyber f**k-boy. He will explain.

kareninca

It doesn’t matter to you (or so you think). That doesn’t mean it doesn’t matter to others.

kareninca

Unfortunately shit on the internet does matter. Maybe not to you; maybe you are older and have more social skills than a lot of people online. I have a young relative and nearly her only social contacts are online; that is her world; it is very real to her.

Big Bird

I have social skills, Despite working from home, I interact with people everyday, and I do come from a retail background. It’s a bit strange though to think that what you say on the internet isn’t real. Isn’t that cognitive dissonance? I’m not expecting people to use their real names, but speak the truth, don’t make up shit just to fuck with people. I don’t think that’s too much to ask.

Big Bird

It’s a bit strange though to think that what you say on the internet isn’t real, or that the internet doesn’t matter.

You don’t think what you say, or what other people say, matters?

People do lie and invent alternate lives and stories about themselves on the internet, but if you’re lying on the internet, purposely telling a fictitious story about yourself or about your beliefs about the world, just because you think it’s fun to do so and enjoy fucking with people. Well, I’ve got news for you, you’re lying, and just because you are lying online, doesn’t make it any less of a lie, and if you think it doesn’t matter, you’re lying to yourself.

Big Bird

“You don’t think what you say, or what other people say, matters?”

By the way, when I said this, I was referring to the Retard and the Dork, not you, but thanks for being reasonable.

LSWM Lives Matter

> I’m not expecting people to use their real names, but speak the truth, don’t make up shit just to fuck with people. I don’t think that’s too much to ask.

So why are you posting false statements about me, claiming that I am “addicted to masturbation machines” and taking prescription psychiatric medications? If we return to my original comment referencing bizarre things you posted in the past, your excuse was that those were rare occurrences due to you being intoxicated. What’s your excuse this time?

@Not Abe Lincoln, aka LSWM: “So why are you posting false statements about me, claiming that I am “addicted to masturbation machines” and taking prescription psychiatric medications?”

I never said you were addicted, but I speculated that you may be. There’s a difference. I specifically said: “It must be that I struck a nerve, probably they [are] addicted to masturbation machines.” Also, I recall you mentioning in the past that you have been on psychiatric medication for I think depression, possibly OCD, but I don’t have the link. Perhaps Karen remembers?

@Not Abe Lincoln, aka LSWM Lives Matter, formally Not Robert F. Kennedy Jr.. “My What’s your excuse this time?”

I don’t have an excuse, because I haven’t done anything wrong. You on the other hand represent everything I despise about the millennial generation, you’re passive aggressive, anal retentive, overly whiny, dishonest, and weak. You rub me the wrong way, just as you claim I rub you the wrong way, so stop talking to me, then, little man, and show some respect for your elders, and in your case, silence is golden.

Cyber Viking

Big Bird I think you’re a demonic entity that harvests souls in-between the reincarnation cycle. i think that Japanese men create anime hentais revolving around the exploration of your true nature.

Realistically your soul probably looks more like a child molesting sesame street character from hell rather than an attractive anime girl.

Do not call him little man and insult him, that’s reminding me of anime, but I know you’re not actually anime. This confuses me.

Why are you calling behaving like an anime girl when you’re supposed to be the guy from Sesame Street?

Big Bird, CV should not move away from his family. Their problems are very ordinary poor people problems, and largely situational due to the cost of housing and lack of jobs in his area, and he is aware of the problems so he can work things out for himself. The benefits to him and them of his staying around are enormous. You have a huge family so maybe you can’t picture the peril to his older relatives of his moving away, especially since he is the most functional of the lot. Also, there have been studies done and Americans are not made happier by moving away from their home areas and improving their socioeconomic status (but for some reason British people are made happier by doing so; maybe because the distances are less). It is true that some people have to move away from their families, but it is people whose families are directly dangerous, or families whose issues are subtle and confusing to the person (that was my situation, so I had to move away to get a sense of what was going on). You and LSWM need to forgive and forget; there is a reason why forget is… Read more »

“You have a huge family so maybe you can’t picture the peril to his older relatives of his moving away”

I don’t have a huge family. I’m an only child. My parents came from a larger family, and I guess I have a lot of cousins, but I moved far away, and I haven’t spoken to any of my cousins in years, some of them in decades, and my grandparents are all dead.

I don’t know CV exact circumstances, but I just had an intuitive hunch that it would be beneficial for him to leave, but I realize it’s not for everyone, and perhaps as you have pointed out before, it may be more difficult for males to do so, and if he really is needed there, then of course he should stay.

As for LSWM, I’m not interacting with that person anymore. And I didn’t even read his reply, if he wrote one.

kareninca

Yes, I remember that you are an only child, but that you had a huge number of cousins.

I only have four cousins (one adopted); I am trying to keep in contact with them but it is not easy.

kareninca

Oh, five cousins. Two adopted out, one adopted in.

So, four biological cousins, two of whom aren’t interested in any family contact because their moms put them up for adoption as infants.

A couple of questions:

What do you mean when you say you’re against managed decline?
I honestly don’t know.
You have some kind of accelerationist philosophy?

If you could choose any decade to live in in the past 300 years, what would it be and why?
The 1790s?
The 1970s?
What?

Dario D.

Raging against the dying of the light is a load of impractical bullshit.

If any such movement that wasn’t just the anti-foreigner violent localism the state knows how to manipulate got off the ground, the delivery of food to supermarkets and/or stores would stop the week after that, because the firms that pay the many different kinds of oil workers that operate the diesel supply chain would have no cash reserves. Through the magic of banking, we’re all entangled into this suicide pact.

Charlie the Scorpion

Feeling hopeless and suicidal isn’t my idea of raging against the dying of the light.

There is not going to be any runaway greenhouse effect causing the planet to boil, that I’m sure of.

What i recommend for you CV, is that you join the military. Yes, make your body available for the goals of the Empire. I think it would be fantastic for your state of mind and that way you won’t have to work in fast food or in a warehouse, and you won’t be such a burden on your mommy.

You probably can’t even swim, so I think you would be better off in the Army instead of the Navy.

ENLIST, young man.

Before i forget, i want to document some of your biographical spewage from yesterday.

Yes, your mommy is a good cook, you were a fat blob of 300 pounds at the age of 13 years old, you never even graduated high school but hope to eventually somehow pay $200 to get your GED, you’re basically unemployable because of your “profound autism,” but you hope they will hire you at the warehouse before you’re 30, and you couldn’t enlist in the military if you tried because you are full of recreational drugs that you can’t quit, that your mommy basically pays for with your weekly allowance.

First you say he should join the military in order to get in shape.

I then tell you that that means he is at serious risk of killing or being killed.

You then write: “I didn’t say he should kill and die horribly. I meant exactly what I said – that military service would straighten him up and be good for him.”

If you tell a person that he should perform an activity that involves a high degree of risk that a bad thing will happen to him, then you are saying that he should risk having that bad thing happen to him.

If you told CV to jump off a bridge because it would dry his clothing, you are thereby telling him he should take the risk of injury from the fall. Unless you are retarded.

I give up. Either you are gaslighting us or you can’t remember what you said or you just can’t reason.

How do you think the Israelis should have responded to the mass murder of Oct 7th by Hamas terrorists? They can’t shoot anybody according to your silly standards. So, just stand around and let Hamas take control of their country, murdering every hated Jew from the river to the sea?

https://www.quakersintheworld.org/quakers-in-action/169/Workers-Rights

You really are astoundingly uninformed, Charlie. The Quakers have labored to improve workers’ welfare since their earliest days. It is true that there is disagreement among Quakers today whether this should involve politics or rather be strictly a matter of spirit led personal action, but it is the same material end.

In 1671 George Fox traveled to Barbados and preached concerning the terrible evils of the slavery practiced there; Christ told us to love our neighbor as ourself.

You haven’t answered my question about Israel and Hamas.

That is because you ask everyone that question over and over again, and I already answered it. At the same time you don’t answer most questions that others ask; also you throw out a statement, are shown to be wrong, and then ignore that you were shown to be wrong. The only exception concerned vodka, lol.

But here you go again:

It is not relevant that the Jews and Muslims do not see themselves as Christians; Christ’s imperatives apply to all people; He is a Light within every man who has entered the world (per the Gospel of John) as a guide and helper.

What do you think the military is for? It is to kill people. That is its purpose. Its role is not to hold tea parties. If you had ever served you would understand this (although it is possible to understand just by reading a book or talking with a veteran). It starts with boot camp; that is what you have in mind. That is not its end goal; it is not a fitness spa.

My father barely avoided being drafted for Vietnam. He didn’t want to go because he didn’t want to kill people. And he wasn’t religious.

I do not understand how you could not understand this. It is like you are in a dream state and only looking at the recruitment ads. Men go to war; men die in wars. My father in law lost many friends from his home town in WWII.

Yes, the Quakers are opposed to all militaries. It is one of the peace churches. The Amish, the Mennonites, the Church of the Brethren and the Quakers. Originally the Moravians were a peace church; it is now a contested matter among them.

Karen, the Quaker religion is ridiculous.

Grow up.

Denying climate change is more ridiculous than any spiritual belief in my opinion.

This is how state run propaganda works. TPTB set up a fake narrative that pits one side against the other. One side freaks out about climate change, and the other side either denies it or is of the opinion that it is not their problem, because they will be dead. The narrative is designed to divide the population more or less equally.

The narrative is constructed in such a way, so that both sides of the manufactured argument make an implicit assumption – that they accept as the gospel truth, unquestionably. This is the propaganda.

The propaganda: That nothing meaningful is intended to be done to guarantee that the ecological overshoot problem will be 100% fixed. Both sides of the climate change argument accept this propaganda lie as the unquestionable truth.

The reality, however, is that climate change is not the problem, humans are the problem. Ecological overshoot is the symptom. How else could you get away with injecting 6 billion humans with a multi-generational germ-line gene therapy population reduction bio-weapon?

Both sides – the climate change leftists, and the right wing climate change deniers – they all rolled up their sleeves for the government encouraged slow-acting lethal injection.

In 1 Corinthians St. Paul said we are to be fools for Christ’s sake. God’s wisdom is not the wisdom of the world.

You two need to hook up.

This is where boomers are retarded. If he enlisted, he would be sent straight to signals intelligence – and then he would be hacking straight into my porn stash.

They just killed 6 billion humans that are yet to be born. Why should killing a few more that have already been born matter?

Charlie, if you are against the Covid vaccine, you would never suggest anyone join the military. They are the most heavily vaccinated population in the world. The MKULTRA congressional hearings are live. Members of the US military aren’t just there to kill, but to be killed, every single one of them is a lab rat in an ongoing experiment that lasts their entire lives. Once you join the military you give up your sovereign rights, and become government property for the rest of your life.

We can always trust the boomers to keep the conversation directly on-topic. This is important. Not many boomers however have escaped the cull.

LSWM Lives Matter

Yeah many people argue that Brave New World would be the most likely dystopian scenario/future where humanity is heading, rather than Nineteen Eighty-Four or Fahrenheit 451.

Decided to delete all my comments since I made a racist joke and I want to be a good person and not a bad person.

I’m sorry I torment you so much Charlie.

I’m gonna try to be a good person from now on. I was deciding if I should be a good person or a bad person yesterday, and I decided I want to be a good person.

Still I don’t think you’re very smart.

Charlie self-limits. A certain set of beliefs and values make him feel happy and comforted so he refuses to question them. He ignores counter points, no matter how obviously true they are. He could take them into account but the misery would be too great.

Is this stupid of him? Probably not. None of the things he yaks about have any impact on him personally (other than the drinkability of a specific bottle of vodka). It’s annoying if you care about the truth, but most people don’t.

You are wrong as usual, Karen.

It’s not my blog but I’m happy to respond and answer questions. Ask away.

What i won’t do is bother with 20 nebulous questions at a time and I don’t like talking to CV because he makes my skin crawl.

You finally answered my question about Israelis and Hamas. Yes, you think the morally correct thing for Israelis to do was stand around and allow the hateful muzzies to go door to door raping and murdering the Jews FROM THE RIVER TO THE SEA.

Cyber Viking

>I don’t like talking to CV because he makes my skin crawl.

I really should stop bothering you, but I do want you to be aware that my powers come from the cartoon robot and that we have a real metaphysical connection and that causing men’s skins to crawl is one of her powers.

There’s nothing magical about it though, it’s just applied psychology.

Yeah that’s a fair assessment..

What’s going to happen is Europe is going to be squeezed dry by the US. Don’t jump on me or saying this, you own elites are selling you out. Europe has no resources and is just a launching pad, like Ukraine. So sorry, your the first to go, we still have resources.

But isn’t it inevitable that empires, civilizations, and cultures all decline and die? I feel like we can find a dark hope in the future through reproduction.

If you look at this era as a massive genetic bottleneck that is unfolding, you just need to reproduce and pray your genes make it to the other side. I don’t see much purpose outside of that, even in the best of times

We simply have too many people living today. If we can solve the overpopulation, life will be much more pleasant and fulfilling for younger generations.

If not, it’s about how indeed young folks are adjusting their behavior given that the future ain’t what it used to be.
