I’ve never said that I believed in freedom of the will. I actually don’t think that the question of whether it exists can be answered using human reason, which I see as being very limited.
Rationally and logically, it seems hard to argue there’s any room for free will.
The best I can do is to say that it exists, then it is generally a weak force. Weaker, say, than an electrode in the brain. Or less directly, weaker than propaganda.
And if it exists, then it must be acausal – i.e. free from internal and external deterministic factors.
So, basically, a miracle.

How you experience your possession or lack of freedom; that is the best/only information you can get. Thank you. The branch of my family in northern New England – not a large group of people – had three deaths over the past year. A woman in her early 60s, a man in his mid 60s and a man in his 80s. You must not have dogs. Some dogs are safe left on their own; some aren’t. They will simply eat things. I know loads of people whose dogs ate a pillowcase or a boot in the middle of the night and then had to be brought in for complex gastric surgery because they can die from the intestinal blockage. We’ve had that happen with the dog they were cloned from. Our veterinarian has to crate her dog overnight. One of our dogs is that way; she will chew up and eat ANYTHING. Again, you must not know a lot about actual dogs.
Yes, it is a risk. I worry about it all the time. There are three adults in my household, so the odds are against all three of us being incapacitated. We do live in a setting where people check on one another and call public safety if something seems wrong, and I have backup plans for extra safety in the works.
That is, the dog we had before had to be brought in because she ate a half a pillowcase. She was ultimately fine, but if we hadn’t brought her in quickly she could have died. And she was very sneaky in eating it; it was fortunate that we caught her at it.
The drink can mess with sleep too.
When I was younger, drinking would give me deep, black, dreamless sleeps.

Now it ruins my sleep completely.

Okay, the vocabulary will be entirely new, but maybe that’s what you need. Something new. And I find those pictograms and ideograms very interesting and cute. You can try the Duolingo app (it has annoying ads) for beginners. The section with letters practice is very good. Also, you can try a book that explains the pictograms at a later stage. But even with romanized alphabet (pinyin) you can go very far.

Do you wear a mouthguard at night for tooth grinding? A lower mouth guard will strengthen muscles in a way to prevent this (and an upper mouth guard will actually cause the problem).
