So, over the past few days it became apparent to me that this Claude thing really is a special breed of Artificial Intelligence. I’m looking at things I never expected to be possible. So, with no further ado, I present to you, a game constructed by AI, with a bit of my human input. I present to you:
CRISISDESK
CRISISDESK is a text-based game in which you play the leader of a country, who has to navigate the co-occurring crises of resource depletion and climate change during a period of twenty years. I had a bit of a hand in instructing Claude, but most of the work was done by Claude.
This took basically five minutes to generate. I can’t do this with chatGPT, but Claude just gives me what I ask for. It blows my mind that this is possible.
This is just an experiment and obviously it’s not a product of my creative output, but rather, of a kind of collective human endeavor. If you ever wrote anything about climate change online, tiny bits of your fingerprints are contained in this project, as the AI was trained on your work.
I was not impressed with the first versions of chatGPT I played around with. But by now, I am impressed. Frankly, watching this produced in five minutes flipped a switch in my brain. I’m going to have to process what I just witnessed happen.
We all have to come to terms with the strange reality that there’s now something out there that can do tasks us humans used to take many hours to perform. This is not going away any more than the Internet is going away, we all have to prepare ourselves to figure out how we’re going to coexist with this phenomenon and maintain dignified and happy lives in a world where we’re not the sharpest tool in the shed anymore.
I hope you find some enjoyment in this game and perhaps it helps you get a better look on the challenges our world will face in the decades that lie ahead of us.
UPDATE: I asked Claude to double the number of scenarios, so the new version of the game (version 1.1) now has twice as much unique content as the original. Hope you enjoy it.
Update 2: I asked Claude to include a highscore leaderboard, where you can submit your score, so now people can compete to get the highest score! The game has thus been updated to version 1.2.
Update 3: Fixed a minor bug that allowed you to feed a custom tag as “difficulty”. The game now returns to medium difficulty if you try to insert a custom tag. Thanks to the user who spotted it! I guess we’re at version 1.3 now, I’m leaving the leaderboard intact as it is.
Update 4: I was annoyed by how easy it was to maintain a high approval rating, even as climate change impacts your nation and your economy goes down the drain. I implemented some changes to make different variables negatively impact your approval rating. We’re now at version 1.4. I am not cleaning the high score table though, because I just like looking at all the people who played the game, but from today it will be harder to beat the existing high score. The layout for mobile phones was improved too.
Update 5: Updated the page to allow you to view the leaderboard immediately before starting the game. Also implemented a minor change that results in climate change worsening over time, but less so if you choose to dramatically cut emissions. We’re at version 1.5 now.
Cute game! I obviously chose in the beginning to lead the developed nation, because I will NOT be ruling over some shithole. Here’s how it went, I ended up messing up the economy but everything else went pretty okay:
Nice job!
Thank you! ^-^
Rapid return to Hyperborea with much of the economy of a developed nation dismantled, a total conversion to clean energy, and a beautiful environment. It should be asked why low status white males like me who don’t benefit from the way the current economy is structured shouldn’t support this. I mean, there would be plenty of green jobs backed by the state and the companies that didn’t hit and run and retreat to foreign markets, and those would be more accessible to me than the current polluting private market dominated by billionaires which includes as many selective pressures against antisocial autists such as me as it can. A state like this has a vested interest in keeping people controlled and employed (All systems are designed for control of populations.) From an entirely selfish lens this sounds wonderful to me, the plants, animals, and the moderate climate will still be around for the future and those are some of the main things which make life worth living. I mean yeah the rich are willing to sacrifice the forests and the moderate climate for their money, but I don’t care about their money or money in general. I’d love a New Green… Read more »
I could also take the position that everything is fine and the destruction of the natural world that humanity relies on for everything is perfectly fine. I could believe that none of this shit matters because this whole world is a free range loosh farm, that nature is evil; and it’d be better for all the natural systems collapse as fast as possible so as to end the existence of humanity sooner.
From the misanthrope angle it would be preferable to support GDP growth and anti-environmentalism. That would also result in my death sooner due to the unmanaged cascading effects of total climate destruction, and that too has its own appeal since I get to escape my life sooner without facing the indignity of suicide.
The rich people would get to keep their money for longer before they die of heatsroke or something, so for them I imagine that it’d be worth it. Trump gets to fuck teenage girls and dance in golden ballrooms so I get why he doesn’t care about the environment.
Meh I think the economy was doomed anyway. Tryptie you play this game really well.
Played as a developed nation, and got pretty much the same result last evening, so we must think alike about these things.
I kind of lost patience and gave up halfway through when I first played it yesterday evening, but then I saw your update that you added a leaderboard so I decided to persevere this time and finish because I was curious to determine how I’d rank among everyone. Pretty shocked to find out that I’m ranked first out of (so far) eight entries. Of course, others may have gotten a higher score prior to the leaderboard being established but overall I’m pretty chuffed! Looks like all that climate doom scrolling on this blog and Substack paid off. I would like to dedicate my accomplishment to the late great Richard Crim who taught me a lot about climate change. R.I.P.
Edit: Of the eight entries on the leaderboard I’m the only one who “took charge” of a stable nation. Everyone else was leading an either stressed or critical country, so perhaps this allowed me to get a higher score than I otherwise would have gotten.
Stayed president for as long as possible so as to do as much good as possible, while ultimately collapsing the economy for the environment. Pretty based LSWM Lives Matter someone should do this irl.
Alright so the Machine God has given us a inhuman capability to plan. The sooner we can all finalize a game plan we can work together so as to subvert the masses and collapse everything so we may sooner end this hellrole existence.
One of you is going to have to be president and do something like what LSWM Lives Matter did here..
I’m going to be Tyr in this ultimate equation, an expendable pawn who celebrates his own glorious demise for the benefit of greater minds. See me like a Battle Droid from Star Wars. I don’t got money so that’s my use to the cause.
May the Kali Yuga burn for a new dawn!
lol, thanks Cyber Viking, but now Tryptie has me beat, she’s #1. Congrats Tryptie. For fun I pretended to be Trump (Racist Uncle Bob) and ended up in last place.
No prob friend! 😋
Tryptie is obviously the smartest person here so doesn’t surprise me.
Tryptie for President Queen!
You are very sweet! I think I might have just had a higher score from choosing a stable, developed nation in the beginning like LSWM said.
>You are very sweet! Well you’re brilliant and I appreciate the things you’ve taught me a lot! I think I might have just had a higher score from choosing a stable, developed nation in the beginning like LSWM said. Maybe. I’have been playing shitholes. I am curious if I can get an A as a shithole country though, best I’ve gotten so far is a B I think this game puts into perspective the real fact that the most well off countries have a bigger ability to absorb the impact of environmental transition than poorer countries. Climate change is certainly a global issue which every nation should be combating, but the people who should be primarily paying for the development of new technologies should be the people who possess the most wealth and consume the most resources rather than the people who are just barely getting by. On some games if I don’t want to deprive my people of their livelihoods sometimes I have to make concessions to industry, if I had a stronger starting economy those concession wouldn’t have been necessary. What saved my economy last game was incorporating refugees into our workforce, they received jobs and stable lives,… Read more »
OK yeah you’re right the difficulty really matters.
Yay I got the high score!
wow congratulations! I just saw your high score before I came here to comment, here’s how my latest game went too
image didn’t post :<
Thanks for the congrats! 😁
I can see you’re getting better at this game too, since you got a higher score than your previously score and on a higher difficulty to boot! Though there is some RNG involved I’ve noticed.
Once more into the breach!
Alright you got me beat at the mid tier for now!
Just a suggestion for version 1.5 (if you decide to release another update), perhaps make it so that the leaderboard is viewable from the “homepage” of the game, in order to avoid the inconvenience of having to play through the entire game for people who are just curious to see the latest scores posted to the leaderboard since the last time they played the game.
Thanks, good point. Introduced it in 1.5.
Currently breaking my head on this over and over again. Been doing this for hours. Thanks it’s really fun.
Got the Author of Templist Canon (he believes he’s Wotan) to play this game, here’s his results.
Rintrah, have you also asked yourself how much power was consumed to generate your game?
I guess if you would have to pay the full power bill for this, you would not do it again.
Others have payed your bill, subsidized you, because they like it how you help to develop this new technology. And roughly a billion people are doing the same.
Don’t you have a serious conflict of interest right now?
The Borg Empire was just a fascinating dystopian idea from Star Trek.
And now I have to watch it become reality.
Well, it’s here, whether I like it or not. I’d rather learn to grow familiar with how it works than find myself unable to use the technology that governs the world.
The fact that it’s subsidized by wealthy people and corporations means nothing to me. Remember, I’m Dutch, healthcare and public transportation are subsidized in the same manner here, I happily use both.
Picard called himself “Locutus of Borg”.
Would you like “Aspergus Eight of Nine”?
He is riding the tiger, we all are
Rad, I am so glad you came around to seeing how great and fun AI can be, putting aside all the negatives for a second. I think there is occult significance as well to these LLM entities, which is fun to explore. Try asking Claude “What would your shadow self say if it could talk?”. Even better – ask it to create a game for you based on the concept.
I played it yesterday evening as a developed nation. I used a strategy of shifting people and resources into the low resource input economy as much as possible, while not crashing the current industrial economy, and got an A, with an economy in the 20s but the other factors being pretty high. Thinking the game over, I have a suggestion. Incorporate demographics. I think overpopulation is the main driver of the ecological crisis, and none of the questions I got were related. The ruler of a developed country should be under considerable pressure to import migrants from less developed countries in support of replacing the native white population with low birth dates, with brown people who are more compliant and have higher birthrates. “Conservatives” should be pressing the ruler to get the white birth rate up. He or she should be warned that otherwise pension obligations couldn’t be met. I haven’t played the scenarios for the poorer countries yet, but maybe their pressure should be to produce more people for export or something. I think as this is developed, there is room for more random geopolitcal emergencies, such as wars and pandemics. If the ruler doesn’t co-operate, investment dries up… Read more »
My nation of Crapanistan Failed with a capital F.
Nice, I’m looking forward to playing this game. I’ve never actually tried Claude, I mostly use Gemini, and occasionally Grok and ChatGPT. There is also the Meta AI built into WhatsApp, but whenever I ask it questions of a sexual nature, it point blank refuses to answer. Mark Zuckerberg is a fucking pussy.
I am also experiencing problems when using the image generation capabilities of these AI platforms. Due to the abnormal wiring of my brain, I am not that attracted to slim white blonde women, but rather to chubby Indian women with very dark skin. But no matter how many times I ask these AI chatbots to “add ten more pounds to her frame” or to “make her skin as dark as an African”, there seems to be a limit to how heavy and dark “it” will make her. Oh well. At least her dress is very pretty.
For coding, the best-in-class keeps bouncing back between Anthropic and OpenAI. Right now, OpenAI’s GPT-5.4 is the GOAT, edging out Claude Opus 4.6 imo, but I’m sure that’ll change again within the next couple of months.
Lets see how this goes
Gosh darn it my Green Socialist government collapsed the economy again. What a shame.
Alas, it seems if you want the village to function there must sometimes be compromise with the rich and not everything should go to feeding low status white males and the environment.
Ahh, this reminds me of playing Democracy 3 back when I was in Middle School.
Whelp my economy survived for the first time since I started playing. Got a C, I gotta do better.
Maybe I could have found some way to stimulate the economy without doing deep mining and keeping the hydrogen patent? I don’t like how low the environment score is.

Exactly. The human brain simply uses far too many calories. Food is expensive you know. Precious brain function must be reserved exclusively for porn.
Don’t however hit your head simply to stop over thinking. This is stupid. Just masturbate to porn.
I guess you will all end up with a god complex or something similar.
And God said, “Let there be light”. And his word became true.
You do the same, you use the same technique. Your word (or your prompt), becomes true. Not really true but true enough to have an effect on you, impress you.
This will make somthing with you …
Rintrah, do you use free models or paid ones? In case of the latter, which tier?
I’ve used the free model for all of this, Sonnet 4.6.
Hey Rintrah, seems like you finaly found your true passion: Game developer.
I guess if you continue this you will have great success. I’m jealous, I wish I could have become that too. But I’m a wreck now, it’s too late for me.
I wish you the best of luck.
I haven’t played, but is this, like, where you try to program people that if they just took some ideal status quo path that it would all have worked out?
Because we tried that.
And it went to shit.
I havent played it too and will not because I don’t play games which transport the CO2-tracegas-doom-narrative.
I’m also sure that you can only win Rintrahs game if you follow his worldview.
And I’m jealous because it seems like as it’s fucking easy to make games with the so called “vibe coding”. And Rintrah can use his sperg abilities to be a very good vibe coder.
I guess I could be too a very good vibe coder but I have this AI-phobia. I can’t talk with them. I can only talk with machines in single words like you do when you operate with voice commands. Anything above is unnatural for me, and I can’t do it.
Rintrah, let’s say I would like it to try out your game.
Does this mean I will be connected to AIs if I play?
It’s really frustrating.
I spent so much time of my life to learn how to code right, didn’t got a decent job as reward, and now get fucked from AIs who show me how lame me human is.
The vengeful part of me like it to know how devastating AIs will be to all kind of office jobs: they will totally annihilate them.
This game reminds me a lot of Hidden Agenda, and if Radagast is going to do an update, I suggest playing a few games of Hidden Agenda first. Hidden Agenda came out in 1988 and is a text based computer simulation focusing on Cold War Latin American politics, with a very similar interface for this game. This is the best online article I found explaining the game: https://scientificgamer.com/in-praise-of-hidden-agenda/ But the TV Tropes take is also good, as you would expect: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/VideoGame/HiddenAgenda1988 Here is where you can download the game. Due to being an old text based interface with limited graphics, it can still be placed on PCs and Macs for free: https://www.myabandonware.com/game/hidden-agenda-ge https://www.mobygames.com/game/4963/hidden-agenda/ Apparently, someone was trying to create a new version as of 2025. I’ve heard that “Suzerain” is a worth successor in terms of politics simulations, but it is only available for download on Steam or on Google Play on the Android. Also, someone wrote a cheat sheet for the game that is downloadable online as a PDF file: http://www.info2.uqam.ca/~walsh_t/tales/Hidden_Agenda.pdf Recommend NOT reading this until you have played the game a few times, however if Radagast wants to borrow the mechanics for an updated crisis, this provides a… Read more »
Anyone else feel like they are under psychic attack right now? Literally feel like demons are trying to take me over to the point I’m considering getting a crucifix and a medal of my patron saint to wear round my neck.
You should try to visualize the demons in your head and then clear them. You could visualize destroying them with weapons or magic, or just picture them disappearing. Believe me, you’ll feel better. This works.
I suppose if you wanted to call upon Christ or a Saint and visualize him doing that for you that would also probably be fine.
I think it’d be better if you didn’t call upon something else and you cleared the demons yourself so that you’d know just how powerful you really are Rob, but whatever floats your boat!
Cheers Viking.
I ask me if I maybe have mastered the Art of Code vibing without knowing it.
Maybe all the crazy stuff I wrote into the internet is nothing other than vibe coding.
And you all do the same, some better, some worse … are we all vibe coding our future?
Why don’t I get so few answers? Why are you all so silent?
