Message on my absence

I am currenty experiences some symptoms of severe mental distress that required a period of institutitionalization. My body is still intact and this episode was apparently not brought on by drug use, but instead mostly seems to be a result of sleep deprevation and constants SARS2 exposure from my coghing neighbor.

Thanks to everyone who expressed any concerns, I hope business as usual will soon continue.

Choose life.

  1. Thanks for posting an update, very sorry to hear about your predicament, sending you good wishes, get well soon.

  2. That is what you get for disrespecting Americans who pay for all of your defense and subsidize your wealfare state that allows you to go in for mental distress… Americans just put their fucking boots on and go to work you Europussy!

    • I feel for Rad but you aren’t wrong. The last 50 years has been a great pussification of EU. And they are all cucked with no military to speak of and dependent on the protection from the USA. The USA is not longer the world police, and they have to deal with it. Ukraine is in Europe and Europeans should deal with it. Why should the USA waste their money and lives on it? I am not sure if/how we contribute to their welfare state but seeing what DOGE has uncovered we probably are paying for all of it. But none of this is Rad’s fault. Rather he is a victim of the pussification of Europe and the dependance created. I would also be a drugged out autistic in that environment, though I would lack his brilliance in vaccine related topics. Get well soon Rad!

  3. Sorry to hear this, hope you get better, the brain inflammation is horrible. I’m in the same boat looking after my Dad now (who has severe covid fibrosis and coughs non-stop) and the stress/anger surges and brain fog are very real. Have found jogging helps a bit but still feel like I’m losing my mind at times.

  4. Glad you’re still alive.

This seems to be a strange season. Myself and several of my friends have all been going through crises at once, and the pattern is conspicuous.

  5. Thanks for the update! Sorry to hear you’re having difficulties; I hope you feel better soon.

All us weirdoes will be here waiting when you’re ready to come back. ^_^

  6. Get better soon. No one is mentally perfect in this corner of the substackosphere and blogosphere. (EXCEPT MYSELF OF COURSE) just kidding

Hoping for more of your posts!

To be honest, if I had an expired Tesla option position like yours, and watched what is currently happening to Tesla stock after my options expired, I would probably also require a brief institutionalization.

  7. Das kut met peren Radagast! Goed dat je nu even tot rust kan komen en hopelijk herstel je snel weer. Heel veel beterschap en ik hoop snel weer van je te horen.

      • I wrote an addendum to my post and then deleted it but here it is. I have a close relative who has been involuntarily committed twice, due to having a brain that is too large, like Rintrah’s situation. I can tell you that Rintrah IS okay. Since he is alive. Everything else can be worked on. Congratulate Rintrah on still being with us; celebrate it, and then pray for help with the condition that caused the crisis. After years and years of searching my relative is now on two psych meds that don’t harm his mental acuity but keep him out of Bedlam (where he was made to play Uno with his fellow inmates, and other indignities)(there was also the risk that he could have ended up at the state institution if the nice places didn’t have space, the state institution is fucking terrifying). It took a psychiatrist who also had a brain that was too big, who had done a small clinical trial years before on a common med. Rintrah has been treating himself as most overly-smart people do, but sometimes it helps to get a professional to help.

  8. Rest up and take care of yourself. I have learned a great deal from and enjoy your blog. I have implemented many of your recommendations regarding protecting ones immune system. Thanks again.

  9. An “episode” requiring institutitionalization?
Like, checked into a loony bin for observation by psychiatrists?

I don’t understand this at all.

Trump isn’t that scary and Russia is not about to attack the Netherlands.

If you’re that stressed why not just relax in your home for a few days and take some calming drug?

    Rintrah is expert on drugs.

    • You don’t know anything about mental illness. You are a happy simple minded guy who has survived difficult times; that is a good thing.

      • Oh, “simple minded”?

        You know nothing about me.

I’ll have you know I have quite a few convolutions in my cortex.

  10. Rad, if they are pushing antipsychotics on you, it’s imperative you take it for the shortest time period you can get away with, it is poison and will unironically damage your third eye. I’m not saying they’re useless, but don’t let them convince you you need to take them for years. I speak from experience as I was institutionalized as well for psychosis. Fine now btw. Wishing you the best and hope you recover soon

    • Intermittent, at low dose, as needed, can be pretty safe. Definitely not at the dose normally prescribed, unless you want to be a zombie and diabetic and obese due to eating everything in sight and have tardive dyskinesia.

  11. These meds may technically be “safe” in the sense they won’t kill you, but it shouldn’t be necessary especially if this is a one-off / first time. Never took my meds after I got out, despite all the horror stories the shrinks told about what would happen if I didn’t. Hoping Radagast can and will achieve the same, as they are emotionally and spiritually damaging.

Like the vaxxx – probably necessary for some people, or for a very short time period, but pushed *FAR* harder than necessary.

  12. Best wishes for your situation to improve. Typos in your brief post indicate a level of distress. You seem like a person who deserves some happiness.

  13. By the way, another reply…

I know nothing about drugs, mushrooms, smokable substances, and other such things. I never once smoked, inhaled, or injected anything fun (although I drank in the past and smoked half a tobacco cigarette once)

That said, I suggest to definitely lighten up on any “substances”. I do not think that they do you any good. My brain is good enough without drugs.

One of the reason I stepped back from frequent posting on Substack is what I saw in other substack posters. I realized that some of them drift towards insanity. I did not want something happening to me because I have family, kids, parents, and investments.

So, I decided to lighten up on Substack posting, revenues be damned as integrity of my mind and soul are more important than posting frequently. And especially if I have to post crap to “grow audience”

    • The “Fourth Way” (Gurdjieff/Ouspensky) is a spiritual school which draws from both Eastern and Western traditions. I have a feeling this school/practice may be of more utility to the younger generations than any New Age or Kabbalistic Satanism which currently rule the airwaves.

I remember reading in some biography or another of how the early Gurdjieff schools in Europe had the members sitting around and doing the opposite of “group therapy”. They consciously eschewed “politeness” and etiquette and tore into one another, calling out all the bullshit they privately observed in the back of their minds about each other. Things got heated from what I understand.

But this was before Usenet/4chan and the internet in general provided the same service, but on a global scale.

I’m left wondering if such a dynamic is a net positive or negative. I can see it both ways.

P.S. Karen, I know we are both oldsters. This is my “final form” I hope it doesn’t scare you too much

      • I’d say it is positive, but within boundaries. Some concepts from psychology, ‘window of tolerance’ and ‘titration’, are key. Only within the window of tolerance can someone process the feedback in a constructive way, while titration is necessary to avoid getting outside that boundary. If it happens without skilled adherance to those boundaries people will get triggered and it will turn into a cage fight or someone will shut down (and learn or changes exacly nothing).
