Part of growing old is the increasing sense that everything new you discover is just a variation on something you already know. When you increase your neuroplasticity you can kind of delay this outcome, but the crushing realization will still come for you.
Consider the whole immigration problem. There are low status white males who spend essentially their whole lives as some kind of right wing “influencer”, spewing venom and rage about it. And it just blows my mind, that they never get tired of this, how they can be so invested for such a long time, in the number of brown people entering their country.
Take a look at this short video from Dutch TV.
It’s from 1998, but it might as well be from today. It has all the same bullshit, with complaints about how there are more and more brown people entering the country, how we can’t handle the numbers, how these are secretly brown people who just seek “happiness” instead of fleeing war.
Well here’s the modern version, it’s still the same shit:
It’s like we’re all just playing a game that just continues in endless cycles.
If you’re brown, your role is to try to sneak into a European country.
If you’re a low status white male, your role is to be very angry about this, to scream in rage with your bald head at some minor bureaucrat or petty elected official about all the brown people entering your country who make the street unsafe for your kids.
And as a bureaucrat, a petty elected official or as some other sort of medium status white male, your role is to explain that you understand the concerns of the low status white males but blahblahblahblahblah and racism=bad of course. And this whole game has been going on since at least 1998 by now.
But then eventually we die and fail to recognize the true light, which is the true origin of all souls. So then we cling desperately to our memories, stuck in the bardo after death. We cling to the memories of our petty job, or our desire to flee to all those white people, or our anger about how brown our neighborhood has gotten.
But our memories grew distorted and the faces around us projected by our own mind start to look grotesque and demonic. We fail to recognize the illusion, so we flee from them, until eventually, we end up trapped by our own attachments in our next incarnation, once again having failed to reach enlightenment.

Now we are reincarnated as low status white males again, yet again cursed with a bald head and forced to spend all our days angry about the brown people entering our country, anger that ensures we will be trapped here again after we drop dead of a heart attack while we’re angrily yelling at some petty bureaucrat at an information evening for our neighborhood about the new asylum center.
That is at least, what the Tibetan monks suggest.
LSWM types are really eager to do something about the mass immigration. They want “remigration”, of brown people back to their own countries. This is of course never going to happen and it’s easy to show why: We already don’t have enough people for most blue collar jobs. The Netherlands is importing men from the Philippines to work as bus drivers now. Soon you’ll be importing brown women for the nursing homes. This is inevitable.
What amazes me mostly, is how emotionally invested people can stay in all of these things that progress so slowly in such a predictable manner. All your anger does is that it traps you in this dissatisfying cycle of reincarnation. To feel invested in the events of this world is a mistake. They will just disappoint you.
We could call reincarnation here a trap. But it’s not really a trap I would say, it’s just natural. You just get more of what you sought out in life. You enjoyed spending your days being angry about invading brown people, so once you die you become a new low status white male, equipped with a new bald head, ready to be angry again. If you are invested in this world, you will just get more of it. It seems fair to me.
On the other hand, once you have exhausted the passions, you approach the end of it. I hope I have mostly exhausted my passion for this world by now.
Speaking of brown people entering Europe to seek a better life, I’m reminded of this hilarious video I recently saw on Facebook of a LSWF:
https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1BoLV6gHdX/
“Dublin in the night!”
Her extremely thick working class accent may be hard to understand, but the funniest part of the video is when she’s threatening to murder someone inside the McDonald’s restaurant, then immediately becomes extremely polite and apologetic when she sees the young Muslim couple pushing their baby in the stroller, before returning to acting like a deranged lunatic once they’ve walked past.
And to add to the theme of societal decay, the fact that there are not one, not two, but THREE fast food establishments ALL RIGHT BESIDE EACH OTHER! Also, the fact that she appears to be in her 30s or 40s, yet she still dresses like a teenager.
Although I suppose it is in bad taste for me (and others) to laugh at this woman’s misfortune. I am sending her good wishes and I hope she is able to overcome her struggles, get off the streets and achieve a better life for herself.
What if the problem is actually that you lost the ability to notice anything outside your existing base, causing you to pass by vast oceans of newness as though blind?
What if the problem isn’t that you’ve lived to see the show until it becomes boring, but rather, that you no longer have eyes to see?
What if, you had no butthole but must shit?

>What if the problem isn’t that you’ve lived to see the show until it becomes boring, but rather, that you no longer have eyes to see?
Theoretically this is possible. But I don’t think it’s what’s going on. Notice how today young people fetishize the early 00’s and the 90’s. Eras they never consciously experienced.
I don’t know what you can do about it either way. If I no longer have eyes to see, that would probably be the worst case scenario, with no solution.
Bro that literally is what the Bible is for. What do you think they’re talking about when they discuss being born again? There is a way, and it’s all in that book. If you consider that the contents of it are actually real, and experiment on that premise, you’ll revolutionize your whole world.
New York Post: NASA scientists have calculated the date a lunar eclipse occurred in A.D. 33 that may pinpoint the day of Jesus’ crucifixion.
In the early 20th century, there was a huge influx of people into the U.S. from Italy and Eastern Europe (Catholic/Orthodox and Jewish). It was very bumpy; there was a big problem with the Mafia and other cultural issues. So the doors were shut for many, many years, and all those people were digested and now LSWM are often Italian or Eastern European. I am guessing that Trump is trying to replicate that process; close the doors for long enough to digest. Germany is now blocking entry too (per eugyptius); presumably with the same intention. Maybe the Netherlands will do that. It is funny that you take such a tiny time frame to be representative of anything, and even compare it to a cosmic time frame.
As far as boredom goes, you are assuming that you and the object observed are both staying the same. But you are changing, and so your perception and understanding of the objects around you will change over time; you can see this if you allow yourself to see it. I visit my hometown a couple of times a year and I am always staggered by how different it seems to me, even though nothing material has changed; it is because I keep changing (not that I want to).
“and now LSWM are often Italian or Eastern European”
That is, they are Americans of Italian or Eastern European descent.
The germanic people are: Germans, English, Netherland, Flaams, Danes, Swedes, Norwegians, german Swiss, East of France. This is exactly the area (or men whose ancestors came from this area)from which over 90 % plus of all innovations in the world, cars, computers, planes, space rockets (Wernher von Braun), art, philosophy, you name it, came from. But you also find many germanic people all over Europe, Siberia, the Americas even some in North Africa, South Africa and even in the Holy Land (remainders from the crusades). Why do they want to get rid of us?
They want to get rid of you because you are not easily controlled.
There is an evil human power that has extracted wealth from the world for hundreds of years. Those people of the world who share the values of white Christendom (for lack of a more precise label), those who value merit, integrity, freedom, individual autonomy, mercy, compassion, those people will not be cooperating with the planned bankrupting, nor with the indoctrination, the draconian control, the loss of personal autonomy, or the destitution, so those people must be eliminated.
They will eliminate you by any means available. Including by importing foreigners (the immigrants), sucking you dry to support the foreigners, then waiting for you to expire from deprivation and exhaustion, with the bonus of using your money to pay for them to outbreed you. Diabolical.
The globalists seek to completely eliminate all cultures/peoples that will resist them. They play a very long game. This is genocide. It is right and proper that we should want to leave the next generation a better world. A dystopian future run by evil overlords who have perfected their controlling grip on humanity is a notably worse world. The right response is to fight them to your last breath. Anything less dooms the next generation to a life of slavery in a grotesque system that will suck the humanity out of them.
Once again we’re treated to the idiotic argument that * mass migration is necessary for White countries because White people don’t work enough and need brown labor.*
And
“To feel invested in the events of this world is a mistake.”
Really?
IT’S THE ONLY WORLD YOU WILL EVER EXPERIENCE.
Fuck is wrong with you?
So what you’re saying is…
It’s better to be a MSWM bald with glasses bureaucrat than a LSWM bald with glasses complaining about the browns.
Hmm. There may be some wisdom to this. I’ve been considering it.
(But I’m far from bald, just saying)
P.S. nigga Heil Hitler
This world, you say. Which world is that? It’s only yours. People living on the same street can experience this world very differently. It’s what you bring to it what eventually matters. If it goes on after death, surely that must be some sort of continuation of what you did with your time here. Those who create hell for others, they might just end up exactly there. If you zoom out a little more, you’ll notice things do happen.
Yesterday, I discovered that I am autistic as my Raads score is 124.
Yes, but are you an autistic retard?
Igor, I just took an 80 question test on autism (the same one as you?) and scored way higher than you on the autism scale.
But I’m not convinced. They want money for the “full report” and there are other tests on the Internet…
I agree. I thought about it and realized that the test is BS
I started to realise i was different many times during my youth but the one time that i really realised “holy shit…..” i was with my GF of the time who was on paper highly intelligent. We were trying to find a park in a big open car park and i went past a row and said “nope no parks down here”… how can you tell that you cant see all the cars.. “yes but you can see the shadows they cast onto the road and theres no free parks”..
she couldn’t believe it and asked me 10s of times during the next few days who taught me that trick.. she could not accept that I just knew that. thats when i realised things i don’t even think about and didnt even know they were “things” are concepts that need teaching even to “very smart” people..
i am not autistic just your average 110-130 IQ person thinks i am.
Mine looks like 171 on the RAADS scale.
I didn’t think I was that bad.
Who cares? It’s just someone else’s test. My old aunt and a friend of mine who is a generation older think I am “autistic”. The friend talks about me to others and says “he’s good company, but on the spectrum definitely”.
I don’t give a monkey’s.
We’re in an idiocracy. Decline might cause people to try and turn the situation around and try to move toward a meritocracy. If that happens people like me might be a bit less marginalised.
Scoring high scores on autism test is nothing to worry about.
“If I am accused of being optimistic because I have utilized this quote I can only say that neither optimism nor pessimism has made a rose grow. My point of view comes from my inability to tolerate my own energy in a highly restrictive world.” — Hyatt
Let’s not get too dark(?)
I offer here one of the most achingly beautiful and haunting melodies ever put to tape. I’m a former musician so what I say is true.
This track will be best received by any Christians reading, although I think it’s for everyone. (Except Khazars)
Soon
Oh soon, the light
Pass within and soothe the endless night
And wait here for you
Our reason to be here
Soon
Oh soon, the time
All we move to gain will reach and calm
Our heart is open
Our reason to be here
Long ago, set into rhyme
Soon
Oh soon, the light
Ours to shape for all time, ours the right
The sun will lead us
Our reason to be here
The sun will lead us
Our reason to be here

What do you mean that nothing new ever happens.
New happenings happen all the time – for example Ye’s new song:
https://www.jta.org/2025/05/08/culture/ye-debuts-heil-hitler-music-video-that-includes-a-sample-of-a-hitler-speech
‘Whether you think my work is right, whether you believe that I have been diligent. That I have worked, that I have stood up for you during these years, that I have used my time decently in the service of my people. You cast your vote now, if yes, then stand up for me as I stood up for you.’

“Nothing New Ever Happens”
Translation: I’m bored, lazy, and depressed, and too medicated to find the creative willpower to do anything about it.
Upon graduation from high school my dad’s advice to me was: “Do nothing, and nothing will happen: What do you want to happen?”
If what you want to happen is against the laws of reality, like resisting the laws of gravity, if you are going to make any progress you must make adjustments, otherwise you’re going to keep hitting the wall.
Even if there is nothing new under the sun, doesn’t mean it isn’t possible to see things with the fresh eyes of a child. You could relive the same life a thousands times, and each time it is possible to see and experience something different.
But if you are trying to solve your problem with anti-psychotics that do not address the underlying problem, which is psychic and non-material in nature, it ends up gradually chemically lobotomizing your mind over time. It’s not possible to see the world with the eyes of a child when you’re being poisoned by soul destroying pharmaceuticals.
Keep in mind folks, the Netherlands is a country that has legalized euthanasia, and not long ago made international headlines about a young and attractive woman in her thirties who consented to being euthanized. Was she dying of cancer, terminally ill? Nope, she was depressed. What millennial isn’t depressed? Her psychiatrist in the Netherlands recommended euthanasia, which apparently is a treatment more likely to be recommended to unhappy white people.
I guess if they put you on anti-psychotics and anti-depressants and you still feel depressed, what they do next is recommend euthanasia. It’s really sick. I betcha they aren’t recommended euthanizing Muslim and brown people, it’s probably mostly low status white people, like Rintrah. But I’m not going to fact check that, I will leave that to our resident fact checkers.
Now that you mentioned this very sad development in the Netherlands, one of Todd’s explanations about the current war in Europe and why the EU is behaving in a self-destructive manner, is this: They want the EU project to fail, but they can’t do it themselves. They just want to say “we tried but the external forces were against us and they were too strong”.
Well, that is not exactly a good way (“eu-“) to go, but they are asking a third entity to do it.
Coincidentally, the EU project was born with the Treaty of Maastricht, which is a town in the Netherlands.
So the Treaty of Maastricht, signed a few years before Rad was born, was an attempt to put a definite end to Nations. At least that’s how it actually worked.
That’s another reason why Rad feels that nothing new ever happens. The EU project was an “end of history” kind of project…
I started Emmanuel Todd’s “The defeat of the West”, a couple of days ago. I can’t stop reading it! He’s a French historian and anthropologist.
There’s definitely a lot of things happening! And they have been for many years. They are not always underground.
I’m not sure why we don’t see them.
I’m very often “He’s so right! Why didn’t I see this? And why didn’t anyone tell me about this guy earlier?”.
I hope people here give this book a chance. I may come back with more.
Western civilisation is built on three hills: Golgatha, Rome and Athens.
It feels to me like things are shifting.
I really did get this sense during covidworld that things were finely balanced and could easily tip/flip/phase shift into a new state. There was a comedian who said that covid was like shining a blacklight on a cum stained hotel room, and it sure did point out some of the nastier excesses and flaws of Babylon, but in the end even that didn’t give enough of a push to cause a revolution.
More broadly though, the ‘end of history’ has ended and there are significant movements in global power constellations.
Also, the culture I was born in in the 70s has been transformed or just vanished completely.
The world feels to me like it’s always one rolling disaster, just one turn away from the apocalypse. The fact that it doesn’t is pretty amazing. Humans are just so totally hopeless, and the incompetence and blunders and so forth seem to be getting greater all the time, and the consequences of same are worse, but somehow it all just doesn’t fall apart – that right there is miraculous.
Proof of God.
And if that wasn’t enough, there are always enough signs of the end to incentivize a man to live in fear of God, it’s just that only God knows when he’s going to finally yank our chain.
We do need a ‘phase shift’ I think.
The fundamental beliefs that shape our collective mentalities are, plainly, wrong. But those mental frameworks shape our decisions and practices, so they end up broken too and have led us into our current predicament.
I would think that sooner or later God will put a stop to it. Then something really different and better will finally get a chance to happen.
>Proof of God.
More like, “proof of the Demiurge”
>I would think that sooner or later God will put a stop to it. Then something really different and better will finally get a chance to happen.
Your God hasn’t put a stop to anything for millennia.
The Demiurge, on the other hand, manages to find new ways and permutations of conflict to keep things interesting for It’s entertainment.
(So, if you want to get “closer to God”, be sure to put on a good show.)
History doesn’t repeat but it does rhyme.
I’m an optimist — I think the Eternal Cycle is not so much a 2D Ouroboros or Enso Circle, but rather a 3D Spiral whose radius is continuously ascending and recursively closing in on…something.
I don’t find Gnosticism convincing.
I learned about it briefly a very long time ago, I even studied it a little as part of a history unit that I can barely remember. I think it was probably a theory unit, although I studied a handful of other units that could be counted as either classics, history, or religious studies and it probably came up there as well. But thinking about it now, I remember reading Emmanuel Le Roy Ladurie’s ‘Montaillou’ about the Cathar heresy, although I think the emphasis was on the book as an example of the Annales school of history rather than on the subject matter of the book per se, so it was probably mostly for the theory.
Anyway, it did seem to me that the Cathars/Gnostics had some interesting insights, but as a whole, their religion just didn’t/doesn’t ring true for me.
>Your God hasn’t put a stop to anything for millennia
It’s not up to us to tell him when and what to do.
I was listening to an exorcist on Youtube the other day, and he was saying that he’d asked a demon how many demons there are, and this demon said that they were invisible, but that if they could be seen that they’d block out the sun.
Like I said before, the fact that things haven’t fallen over already is proof positive to me of divine intervention.
Yeah, Gnosticism is like a childhood disease that we never get rid of entirely.
There’s a trait in our construction that makes Gnosticism enticing. In Genesis the tree we’re advised not to try is called the ‘tree of gnosis’ (knowledge), and the other is the ‘tree of life’. Mind you, only life gives true knowledge, bc life is about relationships.
I will say it: I am a big hater of Gnosticism, bc a very close person to me fell in that trap and has undermined his life and relationships gravely.
I am very glad our host doesn’t like Gnosticism either.
The Cathars did offer something to the global literature. They are probably the progenitors of the bards. The bards were probably the progenitors of romantic poetry. That didn’t go very well. But of course they have aesthetic merits.
@Mehen, don’t fall in the trap of ‘gnosticism’. True gnosis (knowledge) comes from relating with people. Gnosticism destroys people by making them static and elitist (‘I know–they don’t’) and other stuff.
You’re much better off connecting to a living community (the body of Christ is the best option, if you ask me).
Also, you shouldn’t blame urself if didn’t work out with that girl when you were young and “naive”. Maybe you turned cynical, thinking that being innocent was a mistake. It wasn’t. That’s why it’s preferable to commit to a person (marriage) when we are both young and innocent. Than turn cynical. But we don’t have to be cynical. We learnt the hard way, but there’s still chance to find our partner for life, and that’s a miracle that the Lord makes happen again and again. We just need to shake off cynicism, by becoming “like the children” as the Bible says. That can only happen inside a big family/community.
With friendliness,
Apollo
Thanks Apollo. Wise words.
I shall consider them.

On a more mundane level, just think of all of the muppets mate – they’re everywhere, beavering away, constantly doing stupid things, but somehow the whole brainless shemozzle keeps lumbering forward.
I put myself in that category as well.

I’d be careful if you’re thinking of exposing your real-life self.
Anonymity has benefits.
Caution seems sensible as a general principle.
Yeah, once you put it out there you can’t take it back. Plus what is the point of revealing your real identity when everyone else is anonymous? Unless you are a public figure, like Igor, or have a book to sell, there is little value in using your real identity in an anonymous forum.
>Caution seems sensible as a general principle.
I once had a close friend who continuously upbraided me about my near-paranoid levels of anonymity, particularly regarding my online activities.
He said this was a narcissistic trait. “Do you think you are so important that people would seek little-old-you out?” he would say.
He called it cowardice.
To this day I’m still not sure who was right.
“Ontological insecurity” and “hothouse flowers” are terms spinning in my brain right now
Trouble with opinions is that they all have opposites.
Narcissistic paranoia (NP)? Or Caution is the Better Part of Valour (CBPV)?
I’ll take CBPV and accept the criticism of NP in circumstances where the rewards are around zero, but the costs could be quite a bit higher than zero.
Still, I caught the bus the other day and a young woman had a tattoo of a croissant (which could pass for a turd), coffeepot, coffee cup, and some other handful of random tattoos on her arm, and others all over the place as well.
I wouldn’t have made that sort of permanent, anally expulsive public display either.
Probably showing my age and circumstances more than anything else.
Stop thinking about me Wombat
Sorry to use your name in vain Muppets.
It’s common parlance down here, and a common condition.
You, me, and every adult I know, are muppets.
We are all brother muppets.
Radagast,
“once you have exhausted the passions, you approach the end of it. I hope I have mostly exhausted my passion for this world by now”
When life exhausts our passions, it is not a sign that we are done incarnating. It is a sign that life has exhausted us. If one focuses on restoring the body, the mind and spirit follow, and the zest for life can return. Even if our bodies don’t fully recover, we can make peace with life and it’s hardships, and we can begin enjoying life and discovering new things.
There was a time in my life where the world lacked interest and newness. I had been exhausted by life. The world is now full of new things for me. Even at my advanced age, I am constantly discovering new interests and making new friends. If I could add on several more decades, it would not be enough time to see, learn, know, love, and do all that I see before me. Recovery can happen for you too.
The last few decades our world has been decaying. If you weren’t alive before it started decaying, you have nothing to it compare to. I imagine it would seem like the world had always been the clown show that it is today. It was better before, and it will be again. We have to hang on and help fix it.
So when are we done incarnating? Maybe when we have mastered living, when we have learned to roll with the punches, to conquer the fear, to love, to give, to be compassionate and creative, and to know and express our inner divine spirit. Mastery of living should enable us to live and to be at peace while doing it and to do it well. Detaching from life, from it’s passions, is withdrawal from living not mastery of living.
We live in the most interesting times. Never a dull moment. It seems that the most dangerous phase (WW 3 dangerous) of the Ukraine war lies now behind us as Trump is unwilling to escalate further. Civil war in EUrope is still possible maybe even likely (Christian Europeans vs the worshippers of Mohammed, but the power distribution seems a no brainer to me once the “Elites” are ousted by the Volk.
Many if not most of them will have to leave imo.
Everything else (Eat ze bugs Klaus and his crazy depopulist bunch) is manageable and now on the brink of defeat.
Western civilisation will arise again.
I think the most dangerous phase lies ahead. There was a time during the Biden admin when there was a great risk the US would escalate, but that time is no more. Trump and his loyalists seem to have wrested control of the US nukes from the traitors among us.
Now the danger is that the EU will be cornered and out of options, and will launch a nuclear first strike. They will be aware that they haven’t got the military resources to win a conventional war. They will realize they have failed at getting the US to wage a conventional war for them. They will realize their investments in Ukraine will be lost if they don’t snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Those investments in Ukraine are existential for the EU. Either the EU recapitalizes and recollateralizes with the resources in Ukraine or the EU will be going bankrupt, and soon.
If they were to launch a nuclear first strike they would never admit they were doing that. They will claim that Russia attacked them first, and said attack will likely be a real attack perpetrated on the people and soil of EU countries by the EU countries themselves. This will grieve and anger the EU peoples enough to support “going to war” against Russia, and then they will launch a nuke or several.
This is not guaranteed. It’s possible the self-absorbed WEF-toady coke-heads running the EU will decide they want to live and that Russia’s nukes are a danger to them. The US could decide to bail them out for the sake of protecting itself. A lot can happen.
Either way, the window for dramatic action from the EU based on them running out of options is likely by the end of this year.

Hey Rintrah,
You strike me as the kind of guy who likes to go on adventures. Like you’d enjoy urban exploration, exploring abandoned buildings, finding secret underground tunnels that lead to abandoned cities, and filming it. If you don’t have any joy in your life, it might be because you are lacking excitement in your life and are way overdue for going on an adventure.
I’m not sure if these people are real or AI generated, but I found it entertaining.

>You strike me as the kind of guy who likes to go on adventures. Like you’d enjoy urban exploration, exploring abandoned buildings, finding secret underground tunnels that lead to abandoned cities, and filming it.
That’s right. I do enjoy urbex.
I don’t have to much to comment on the metaphysical / spiritual stuff, but I think the reason why they are upset about immigration is fairly simple: it’s bad for them economically.
A common mistake is seeing the problem as an entirely cultural question, then framing the debate along those lines. Not that there’s not some truth to that– obviously immigrants, especially Sunni Muslims, struggle with assimilating, and there’s the question of preserving cultures, continuity, cohesion, etc. But it ignores why a lot of people who are not that culturally conservative or xenophobic are skeptical of mass migration.
A large pool of cheap labor (poor peasants from the 3rd world) will naturally depress the price of labor in the 1st world, ie for domestic workers. Natives won’t get hired as often, will get hired for less, and will have to accept worse working conditions / more degrading treatment, all because they are now competing with a horde of desperate people that has been artificially transplanted into the 1st world by greedy corporations.
More people also = more demand. Higher prices at the grocery store, as well as higher rents, for example, and more pressure on the infrastructure / services / system as a whole. Working and lower middle class neighborhoods are always the ones that are flooded with immigrants too, for obvious reasons.
Unless the problem gets solved, they will continue to be angry about it and keep voting for politicians are willing to address it.
You also have to account that working and lower middle class people also face an added pressure from above, aside from their wages being dragged down from below. Namely, the explosive wealth inequality of the last decade.
Wealth inequality is toxic because a small minority can then have an outsized effect on everything.
In America that small minority now sits on most of the wealth and owns all of the income-producing assets. They don’t have this wealth because they made anything, because they were hard working, because they accomplished something impressive, or any other meritocratic reason… they just got it handed to them from the government, entirely for free. They (Obama & Trump) created trillions out of thin air (Q.E) and gave them to the rich.
So now we have a Soviet-style joke of an economy where everyone you know is living paycheck to paycheck, with roommates, can barely afford anything, yet prices just keep rising (and are already ridiculous). And they will continue to rise, too, as long as these policies and dynamics are in effect.
No surprise why people that are being squeezed will vote for the so-called ‘radicals’ and ‘extremists’, rather than the delusional experts who keep saying everything is fine while the whole thing burns down.
I wonder to what extent the current state of affairs is due to ecological overshoot vs capitalist crisis, or if it’s both.
I imagine future intellectuals, sitting around the bin-fire roasting rats, will argue whether a different outcome mightn’t have been possible if humans hadn’t embraced capitalism, or whether technological development would’ve taken us into overshoot and collapse anyway.
Back to the present, even if collapse is inevitable, I say we drastically increase taxes on the rich and drastically lower taxes on wages and the poor anyhow. It would be interesting to see if a change in the inequality makes a difference to our descent.
Although it might rob the future bin-fire circle of a topic of conversation.
I don’t think the current mess is due to either of those things, though they of course will make the problem worse. I think a lot of the green crowd refuses to see the similarities with other empires, simply because they didn’t have high tech or capitalism like we do.
It’s a form of autism, mixed with hubris. Thinking machines radically alter the course of history– all machines are inanimate, it’s how they’re used by human beings that matters. Or believing that we are so different from them, no point in looking at history. In some cases I suppose the high IQ alpha males are so cognitively gifted and pwecious that they can apparently understand all of history, everything that has ever happened, without reading a single book. Amazing!
I see the cause as being more like imperial over-extension, decadence, and then anarchy following a long period of stagnation. Look at the disintegration of the Roman Empire during the 3rd Century Crisis, or the Euro empires in WW1, or the Spanish Empire during the 19th century.
This period of anarchy, endless infighting, multiple problems breaking out at once, etc eventually abates, and the system stabilizes at a lower level, with less wealth and trust than before, but better than the collapse. Similar to modern day Spain vs imperial Spain, or Britain now vs their peak in the 1800s, or the fragmentation of Italy into different city-states vs the Roman Empire. America is no different from those societies, so while it may breakdown in new ways (because of different tech, circumstances) it will still follow the same old patterns.

Today’s elites have enjoyed 40+ years of pure Ponzi scheme growth, ripping everyone off while contributing nothing. Not to mention using up all the social trust, goodwill, faith that had been built up by their (superior) predecessors. Demanding more, while giving less and less.
This has gone on for so long that they’ve devolved to demanding blind support across the board, while offering nothing in return, even spitefully lashing out at their own people. Disgusting.
Unfortunately for them, the next generations to come up now can’t afford anything– and not even the higher things like the stock market, even the basic ones like rent, food, transportation, are now out of reach. Apparently you’re supposed to just humbly, and quietly, accept having the standard of living of a 3rd world peasant, while pledging your unconditional allegiance to the system. Fat chance! They have no possible reason or material incentive to comply, follow orders, or go along with things.
And that will open things up to anarchy, assassinations, civil wars, and disintegration. Every collapsing empire goes down that route, so it’s hardly unprecedented, and America will be the same. Today’s elites will find out the hard way, once they have nothing to insulate them from the consequences of their actions.
Only by eradicating this YUGE class of overfed parasites will stability and dignity be restored.
And yeah, a ton of today’s waste / fakeness is pure greed, not imposed by capitalism or the technology we have. So fixing it requires going after the source.
Think of how many people we’ve brought in from the 3rd world, and who are therefore consuming at 1st world levels. Not to mention the future (guaranteed) rounds of migration. Totally unsustainable, given the finite levels of resources.
Or the factories in the 3rd world, whether China or India or Malaysia. Countries with no environmental regulations, so they just dump waste into the environment like crazy, and then it requires a whole army of container ships to haul the cheap plastic junk to America, before it breaks and is replaced by another round of cheap plastic junk. Nothing lasts and it’s super expensive– the MOST unsustainable arrangement ever devised, just so a handful of corporations can reap the rewards. Hideous!
Not to mention the domestic spending on all kinds of laughable Ponzi schemes, where the end result seems to be that they do the opposite of what they’re paid for– making us LESS healthy, secure, prosperous– while spending insane amounts of money. It’s a joke.
Yet somehow all the experts do is talk about how Joe Sixpack needs to stop eating steak, and start getting used to living with 6 other people. Yeah, sorry, but that won’t fix the problem, since that’s not what makes up the majority of the massive waste.
Germany, whose natural gas pipeline from Russia was blown up, left the EU, declared war on Ukraine, and began marching toward the Russian border.
When Germany came within sight of the Russian border, it also declared war on Russia. The EU joined the German side. In East Asia, Japan declared war on Russia and marched forward to obtain the oil and natural gas of Sakhalin, a Russian territory.
Unable to maintain the front lines on the west and east, Russia asked China for help, but China is a Sinocentric country, so it promised to supply supplies, strongly criticized the EU and Japan, and claimed sovereignty over Taiwan, but did not join the war.
As a last resort, Russia considered launching nuclear missiles, but ultimately chose to negotiate a ceasefire.
I imagined that Russia would be divided into East and West, with the EU and Japan (America) governing each and distributing Russia’s resources. But so far, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
For your amusement, I offer an outlandish hypothesis, which is that nothing seems to happen because the world literally ended in 1999:
“I relate this story to illustrate that just because something sounds implausible, there may still be something real behind it. Which is why I want to examine a crop of improbable junk sci-fi stories being repeated on the YouTube platform just now. These revolve around the claim that the world came to an end sometime in the early 2000s, but we somehow failed to notice. The reasons given for this are borderline insane – the world was destroyed by a comet in 1999, and we are just living through the “world flashing before our eyes” moment that is believed to occur at the moment of death; or, perhaps, the Mayans were right, the world came to an end in 2012 as a result of the particle collision which revealed the Higgs-Boson “God particle;” or, maybe the AI which has been running the Matrix all of this time began glitching.”
