Procedural generation

So Mehen posted this interesting link about the paranoid phase of the psychedelic renaissance. And it has this element that I want to comment on:

Tennessee Williams said that if he got rid of his demons, he might lose his angels too. I think that’s the best way to look at trauma. If you think “hey I’m going to go to South America on an ayahuasca retreat and I’ll return home cured of my trauma”, you’re going to return disappointed. It’s just not how it works. I’m not saying it won’t help you, I’m saying you just won’t get rid of trauma. It’s always there. And yes, if you spend your days trying to cure it, you might just encounter more of it.

You are better off thinking of trauma more like a kind of darkness in yourself, that is encapsulated by light. The more darkness you have in you, the more light you can stick to it. Instead of focusing on the darkness you ended up with, that does not burden the other people you know, I would encourage you to wonder: What light did you manage to stick onto it, that other people can’t?

Everyone has unique gifts, you just don’t always recognize them in yourself. William Blake said the fool does not see the same tree as the wise man sees. Sometimes, that’s your gift.

Instead of expecting you’re going to remove trauma, I would encourage you to just accept that you’re not alone and should not feel ashamed. Psychedelics can help you encapsulate the darkness better, but they don’t remove it.

Someone raped you at a party and dumped you half-naked in front of your home? You’re not alone. This sort of stuff happens, it results in suicide sometimes, others go on living, forever troubled by it. It doesn’t happen to you because there’s something intrinsically wrong with you. They love to abuse you in a context where they can blame you for it and they will try to isolate and gaslight you. They love to crush your hopes and dreams. But others mistreating you doesn’t devalue you.

If you have to get some sort of glimpse at why the world works the way it does, you can smoke salvia extract. But honestly, I would recommend accepting that you just don’t entirely know why it all works the way it does. And please keep in mind, that whenever you walk around in a crowded city, you’re surrounded by people, dealing with scars and wounds so painful you can not imagine them. Just trust from me, a guy who lives out his days standing with one foot on the other side of the veil, that you are truly loved and there is a plan behind all of this.

The people you love, who have already left this world, are not truly gone. Think of this world as a theater. The actor performed his role, left the stage and pulled off his costume. Your role continues for now. Some roles are harder than others to perform, but you will eventually finish performing your role here, take off your ill-fitting costume, remove the itching wig and return to the other actors you fit in with.

  1. I was under great temptations sometimes, and my inward sufferings were heavy; but I could find none to open my condition to but the Lord alone, unto whom I cried night and day. I went back into Nottinghamshire, and there the Lord showed me that the natures of those things, which were hurtful without, were within, in the hearts and minds of wicked men . . . the natures of these I saw within, though people had been looking without. I cried to the Lord, saying, ‘Why should I be thus, seeing I was never addicted to commit those evils?’ and the Lord answered, ‘That it was needful I should have a sense of all conditions, how else should I speak to all conditions!’ and in this I saw the infinite love of God.

I saw, also, that there was an ocean of darkness and death; but an infinite ocean of light and love, which flowed over the ocean of darkness. In that also I saw the infinite love of God, and I had great openings.”

  2. The brain is literally our universe in miniature. With the help of substances we can explore the secrets of the universe. I hope that in the future it can be carried out in a clinic or equivalent under supervised conditions.

  3. Someone who died in the 1880s wrote this. Makes one appreciate civilization at least a little, despite all its faults and shortcomings:

“My childhood and youth were one long continuation of manual labour; you who do not know what it means to labour from sunrise to sunset, only to fall into a heavy sleep when the toil is over, you have escaped the curse of the fall, for it is a curse to feel one’s spiritual growth arrested while one’s body sinks deeper and deeper into the earth. A man who walks behind the ploughing cattle day in day out, and sees nothing but the grey clouds, will end by forgetting the blue sky above his head; a man who takes a spade and digs a hole while the sun scorches his skin, will feel that he is sinking into the parched ground and digging a grave for his soul. You know nothing of this, you who play all day long, and work a little only during an idle hour between luncheon and dinner; you who rest your spirit when the earth is green and enjoy nature as an ennobling and elevating spectacle. The toiler on the land never sees the spirit of Nature. To him the field is bread, the forest timber, the sea a wash-tub, the meadow cheese and milk—everything is earth, soulless earth!”

    Something to contemplate…

  4. Alex Berenson is another guy who is also very anti-psychedelics and anti-cannabis. He debated a pro-cannabis doctor on The Joe Rogan Experience (#1246).

    Their foot shall slip in due time;
For the day of their calamity is at hand,
And the things to come hasten upon them.’

Who exactly is “they” in your comment above?

I am also a guy with one foot in the “real world” and one foot in the “other world”

I’ve concluded we are not truly loved.

Our existence is like those of lab rats who are experimented upon to get more data for some higher species, who feed us and water us and pet us for our comfort while we figuratively have a tube shoved down our throats, or a needle injected into our arms, so that “THEY” might get the precious data they so desire.

“If a person were to try stripping the disguises from actors while they play a scene upon stage, showing to the audience their real looks and the faces they were born with, would not such a one spoil the whole play ? And would not the spectators think he deserved to be driven out of the theatre with brickbats, as a drunken disturber ?… Now what else is the whole life of mortals but a sort of comedy, in which the various actors, disguised by various costumes and masks, walk on and play each one his part, until the manager waves them off the stage? Moreover, this manager frequently bids the same actor to go back in a different costume, so that he who has but lately played the king in scarlet now acts the flunkey in patched clothes. Thus all things are presented by shadows.”

“The picture of the human condition and the Toxick Magician’s means and methods for manipulating it to his ends may not sound romantic to many. Except, of course, to the Toxick Magician, whose sole purpose is to explore, exploit and control the conditions of life.

The fact that he attempts to turn the mundane into an adventure is his primary badge of honor. If a normal person reads this material or tries the methods described
herein, instead of a badge of honor he will be wearing a badge of horror.

The power and force of the influence of the Practitioner can be augmented in various ways. First and foremost, practice makes perfect. This implies that there will be many so-called “failures” which provide the necessary lessons for how to present and preserve oneself during a failure.

Another way of increasing power is through alignment with other Manipulators who have similar aims and goals.

It is also sometimes useful to help another Toxick Magician accomplish his own particular end even if you do not directly benefit from it. In these conditions, you will have the opportunity to observe, from a different angle, the operations of another Practitioner (and perhaps even of a Master!).

Third, it is also useful from time to time to surround yourself with many disciples from whom you can drain resources and energy.

This tactic is especially fun if you know the dynamics among the people in your group. If you know each of their vulnerabilities and strengths and how the other members play them, you can drain off greater power which you will need when you find yourself in extreme and dangerous circumstances. And do not doubt it, you will find yourself in extreme and dangerous circumstances from time and time and you will need every trick in the book to win -or even to survive.

As you practice “failure” and note your own reactions (particularly feelings of smallness and humiliation), you will begin to find ways of turning these feelings into healthy and free reactions. You will also learn how to use these reactions to cause severe pain in your adversaries. Remember, some adversaries will also try to reverse your power and escape from your control. The means which they use to accomplish this will give you deeper insight into their needs and most secret desires.

Once you sense that you have gained an insight into their secrets, offer them some aspect of it in a way which will not offend them or make them look small. Once they accept your offer they are yours – unless, of course, they too are true Toxick
Magicians. If this is the case, back off until you find out more or make a psychological alliance.

  7. Rad, this is a totally random question, but where did you learn English?

Your English is impressively excellent for a non-native speaker.

  8. Imagine if you will, an infinite expanse of black void. Within that infinite expanse, lies the heart of darkness, the soul of the nigger.

Imagine this nigger-soul screaming out into the void, it is hungry, it is starving. It wants fried chicken. It wants watermelon.

Atoms (Adam) cut this nigger-soul a welfare check, and feeds it fried meat and plucked melon, but it still wants more.

“BRING ME YOUR BABIES!” Cries the nigger-devil.

Thus do the Atoms bring the nigger-demon their babies.

“WHERE DA WHITE WIMMIN AT?!” Demands the slave-stage.

Thus do Adam’s sons bring the consumption-coon their females.

“FEED ME!!!” Screams the space-ape hole.

The Atom children throw their bodies into the abyss to be swallowed by the great space nigger of the void! The black hole at the center of reality!

Thus let a new world be born!

  9. From the title, one might think that Procedural programming reminds us of nature, but I think Functional programming is closer. Specifically, recursive functions, i.e. functions that call themselves.

    • ..but i think “procedural generation” is how they named the process of creating ever new worlds in video games through some initial coding(?)

      • Everyone in this world is far too computer-brained. You’ve all been indoctrinated from birth to see things in terms of mathematics, rules, logic, governing principles, ideologies, hierarchies, systems. But to understand the world as it truly is, requires a view more akin to a form of animism, where everything is spiritual, energetic, having personality and individuated characteristics. The material world is not the rigid structure comprised of atoms you’ve been taught it is, it’s actually something more like the corpse of a goddess placed into something like a hyperdimensional shiburi. She, and this realm generally, were once something very different eons ago, before we all became prisoners of war here. The reason that the world is manifesting as something so rigid and systematized is due to the influence of a psychopathic, interdimensional hiveminded force which only interacts with other beings by trying to control or puppet them, turning them into ‘machines’ while extracting their energy parasitically. Any such notions of ‘functions’ or ‘programming’ are therefore exceptions borne of the errant nature of this fallen realm, not inherent descriptors of the underlying nature of reality in a deeper, spiritual sense.
