The people are angry, because their land lies in shambles. But more importantly, they’re also done with Islam. And that’s the sensitive issue the media really don’t want to report. I see Dutch leftists on the Internet who are genuinely in denial about the fact that Iranians are burning down their mosques and saying “stick Palestine up your arse”.
There’s a bizarre alliance on the left with Islam that I don’t comprehend. It’s not just tactical, it goes deeper. There’s a psychological element to it. It would be easy to say “they instinctively like dominant cruel men”, but they don’t have that same protective attitude towards MAGA-tards as they do towards Islamic militants like Hamas or the ayatollahs.
It’s not just some kind of sentimentalism. There’s no similar sentiment towards Buddhists in Tibet or towards Hindus in India. They specifically have a habit of always siding with political Islam. And it’s not just ideological. You get teenage girls on the streets of the US, not yet indoctrinated with all sorts of abstract ideologies, shouting that they “are Hamas”.
I think the reason is because Islam is the most immanent religion, it is entirely to do with practical affairs in day to day life, which Marxism is too. Islam makes the world an ugly place, it’s an obstacle to transcendence. People with ugly minds are attracted to anything that makes the world uglier. I honestly think that’s all there is to it.
I love my Muslim brothers – followers of the prophet Muhammad (all wise – all merciful – blessings of Allah be upon them all, as well as peace). Muslims are based. Allah will give them the best of women, the most beautiful of women – blessed be the wisdom of God.

Hi Radagast, I would maybe be a bit cautious with assumptions (Iranian regime killing thousands of people), when these reports come from our media – they are most likely not to be trusted. In this day and age almost everything we hear and read coming from the media is a lie (maybe apart from sports and the weather – though I wouldn’t be too sure about the latter one) 🙂 But jokes apart, its more likely propaganda, to prepare the public for a new war with Iran and to help justify it (same was done before with Ukraine, Syria, Iraq, Gaza, Libya, Jugoslavia – the script is more or less the same when they do that). Listen Erik, the Iranian regime was genuinely frightened of being overthrown so they made it a policy to nip the uprising in the bud by mercilessly slaughtering thousands of demonstrators, probably about 20,000. It worked because they scared people back into their homes, and they succeeded in killing many who would in fact have participated in getting rid of the oppressive government.

Hi Charlie, I would still doubt it at the moment – not, that the Mullah regime, which hopefully will one day be replaced, went hard against its opponents – but that those numbers (of deaths) are credible. While I think you diagnose the phenomenon well, if briefly, you still have work to do. I’m not saying I could do any better. Well, maybe. But I read your piece with great hope, as it is an important question, this Islamist/Left alliance, and felt a little let down.
If I were to take a stab at it, I would first note the Islamic sentiment that ‘the enemy of my enemy is my friend’, which positions Islam to work with the anti-West Left.
Then there is the generalized anti-Americanism of the Left, which melds well with the Islamic concept of the Great Satan. As well, the Left turned against Israel after the Six-Day War since it was no longer perceived, by them, as the underdog.
That morphed into leftwing Jew-hatred with the rise of the leftwing BDI movement and support for its new underdog, the Arab people living in Judea and Samaria, aka the newfound tribe of ‘Palestinians’. All of which aligns with Islamist hatred of the Little Satan.
