There is no way around this; animal farming is animal slavery. pic.twitter.com/19PzoOf7qN

My position is quite simple. A species that is responsible for this deserves to die. It’s easy to forgive ignorance, but it’s almost impossible to forgive choosing ignorance.
Humans eat the flesh of pigs and then the darkness in their minds dissipates. Or at least, that is how they experience it, like medieval peasants would have experienced burning coal: Burn the black rock and it disappears.
Well, the darkness never disappears. It always finds its way back home. And if you don’t let it into your mind, it’s eventually going to force its way in.
You thought you could hide the darkness away in a chicken broiler or a slaughterhouse somewhere. It escaped. It’s looking for you.
is it just agriculturally produced meat, or would just consider hunted meat ethically ok?
Obviously it’s nowhere near as bad as factory farming because you’re not actively torturing and keeping a living creature in captivity for its entire lifespan, but if you hunt you’re still hurting a being that feels pain and that did nothing to wrong you, when you have no need to do so except ‘eating this feels good’ or whatever. Hurting innocent beings who didn’t consent to it, because the outcome feels good to you, is still the logic of a rapist.
No unnecessary suffering. That’s the rule to follow if you want inner peace.
I had an acquaintance who was very upset with her working class brother for putting out food bait for deer and then shooting them from behind a blind (and later eating them). She thought it was the most sick and vulgar and ignoble thing ever. Of course she eats factory meat. I didn’t bother arguing with her but really that is the most humane way for an animal to die; it is more humane than a natural death in the wild, since it is really fast and it is while they are distracted and in their natural setting and eating something tasty. One could argue that the downside is that they have a shorter life span than they might have. If I were a deer I think I would prefer a shorter life, and being shot while eating bait, rather than dying of wasting disease or ripped apart and eaten alive by wolves.
I have a friend whose parents both died of in a bad way of dementia. She wishes there were a company that you could pay in advance to keep track of whether you are developing it. When you were, they would then shoot you without your noticing the process.
I think it comes down to something more like, do you value the dignity of the animal to the extent that you would want them to live a life on their own terms free from your interference? I support euthanasia but I also think there is inherent value in letting someone make their own choices, and in the case of this deer you’d be making a choice for another being, to kill them prematurely, without asking them for their input, due solely to some abstract ‘utilitarian’ calculation that treats their life like a function to be optimized. I mean if the deer were already dying of a wasting disease that might be different, but here you’re talking about just a random healthy animal.
You wrote at length in a recent post that you don’t think anyone has any freedom worth mentioning. I think that that post was correct, and that your desire for a deer to somehow “freely” decide to live a little longer and consequently be eaten alive is inconsistent with your earlier post. None of us live a life on our own terms. I think that you are in fact aesthetically disturbed by the idea of a shortened life, and that is understandable, but you shouldn’t base your argument on a freedom which doesn’t exist.
I don’t see how you make the connection that anything you’ve written here actually argues for the set of actions you’re advocating. You can say that this world inherently lacks freedom, and that people living here do not and cannot truly live life fully on their own terms, but it doesn’t follow that you should therefore start killing random people or tyrannically making decisions for other peoples’ lives. It sounds a little like the line of ‘reasoning’ that, since everyone is already in hell and getting tortured anyway, we may as well all start acting like psychopaths to each other.
I didn’t claim, or claim to to prove, that a person should go around killing. I claimed that your argument against killing so didn’t work as an argument, because it conflicted directly with something you wrote earlier.
Personally I would go for boring and obvious answers about when it would be humane to kill an animal, and I would justify any particular decision by my sense of love for living creatures, which I think is a gift of the Holy Spirit that is in everyone. I wouldn’t bother with arguments about stuff like freedom.
I think it’s basically humane to kill an animal in the same situations that it’s humane to kill a human, so that’s the underlying notion here. I don’t go around deciding to kill random healthy humans because its more humane than having them eventually get Alzheimer’s and die in a nursing home decades later or whatever, so I apply the same reasoning here.
A feel good story:

As above, so below; this reality has a fractal-like nature.
And yeah for what these animals go through, horrifying is not a strong enough word.
>this reality has a fractal-like nature.
Yep, it really does.
>>>this reality has a fractal-like nature.
>Yep, it really does.
…and your conclusion from this understanding is..?
Be the light.
Conquer yourself and you conquer the world.
When you imitate Christ the ultimate conquistador you create Heaven on Earth.
What do I mean by this? I’ll explain via analogy.
An individual bee doing his job pollinating flowers when acting in accordance with nature and Gods law creates a beautiful structure with the hive/mind his society, the honeycomb which yields the most beautiful fruit.
Let’s say the bees start becoming degenerates the honeycomb/society starts to become all sorts of fucked up.
What are your individual actions that leads this honeycomb/society to become this way?
For me it’s lust, when I see a fair maiden in her Jewloo Lemmings I still have a look as I’m too much of a pussy to pluck out my eyes like Christ would have.
I feel like people never take a step back and ask themselves, ‘why are we engaged in a collective project to build gigantic humanoid insect hives, while forcing each other to live like machines that follow programmed rules? Is this somehow related to why we are all suffering so much? Is this, perhaps, a bad way to live and to derive meaning for your life?’
Plants don’t want to be destroyed and consumed either, but domestic varieties, fruits and grains, have made a deal with us: they agree to be tasty and not poisonous because we help them spread their seeds across the planet.
It’s different with animals because they haven’t adjusted their anatomy to accommodate the tastes of people and they’re sentient.
(Or is it that different? We’ve been adjusting the anatomy of plants and animals to suit us.)
I don’t eat red meat or pork and I wouldn’t want to work in a slaughterhouse, but I’m not going to lie; I know I have the brutality within me to kill other beings in order to consume their flesh and for other reasons, because I come from a long, long line of violent primates.
This is what you get when you have billions of large, hungry humans who have mechanized and conquered the planet. We glorified our hunting and slaughter on epic cave paintings 50,000 years ago, and before that our ancestors were eating flesh for millions of years. Our dietary tastes aren’t going to change, except for rare individual cases.
It is horrible and yet we’ve been passing laws to protect animals from unnecessary brutality and make their deaths more “humane.” It’s better to be killed with a quick punch through the brain rather than having your throat cut with a knife, don’t you think?
If you’re going to be an activist I think you should start by going after the muzzie halal industry of throat cutting.
Karma is a bitch and the future belongs to the vegetarians. Only those who selflessly provides for the weak and for those who cannot defend themselves can enter the kingdom of god.

Is there something I’m not aware of?

That would be something
He gave a pretty based answer there.
Ironically, his mistrust for and skepticism towards the force that created this place as it now is, puts him on a closer track to finding the truth than your average religion believer. Of course I have my own understanding, which could be crudely simplified down to that we’re in hell, the thing people keep calling ”god” is actually satan, WE are the fragments of god, our progenitor was killed and we have to find our way out of here in part by finding our own god-like nature within ourselves.
>Of course I have my own understanding, which could be crudely simplified down to that we’re in hell, the thing people keep calling ”god” is actually satan, WE are the fragments of god, our progenitor was killed and we have to find our way out of here in part by finding our own god-like nature within ourselves.
Well most American Christians worship musk and trump as if they were christ, so it would make sense for them to worship Satan as if he were God.
And they unironically do. In fact, if you want my hot take on the ‘problem of evil’ theodicy, the architect of this realm as it exists now is neither omnipotent nor omniscient (they are obviously not omnibenevolent either) – they merely have narcissistic personality disorder writ large. One of the common features of people with NPD is a preoccupation with fantasies of unlimited power, grandeur and control over others, so it makes sense that if such a creature ‘created’ a false reality, it would try to convince the inhabitants that it was all-powerful and all-knowing. I don’t think anyone is all powerful or all-knowing actually, not even the original creator god from which our souls derive (otherwise we wouldn’t be in this mess). These hypothetical qualities of perfect knowledge and unlimited power are just a meme, the self-evident existence of free will and the fact that more than one agent exists in all of creation, already contradicts them. Since I happen to know this place to be the corpse of a child-goddess, and we are aware that psychopaths and narcissists are the types who generally commit such crimes against children, you can begin to see how that all conceptually comes together as well.
Tryptie, I find your theory on theodicy quite intriguing. Have you written about it anywhere? I would like to know more. How do you know these things?
“I am defined by those I look up to, and those I look down on”
This is the reality of human sociality.
The slaughter of animals is just a rounding error in this evolutionary process.
You either “get with the program” or you become some weirdo philosophical pessimist who wishes for the euthenasia of all sentient organisms.
There are no “half-measures”
Anyone who proposes some form of “half-measures” is someone whose Ego has plans of Power over others.
Mark it.

One of the great scenes in Breaking Bad with incredible acting from Jonathan Banks:

“No more half measures, Walter.”

I’m pretty sure Rad put you on the “naughty list” for disparaging the Jews, so whenever I spell out your name the proper way it triggers the spam filter and my comment is held for manual approval by our host. Hopefully he will forgive you soon.
P.S. I watched that entire “put it down, Martinez, put it down” short movie you linked to in the “Smile!” blog, it was actually very entertaining. So, if Martinez represents me, a “good guy” who’s mind becomes “corrupted” by the reptilian aliens, I assume that you are represented by the protagonist who is forced to (reluctantly) shoot me out of self defense? And perhaps the woman standing beside you yelling “don’t look at it! Look away!” could represent Big Bird? And the reptilian aliens are supposed to somehow represent the Jews? Am I interpreting this correctly?
P.P.S. how is your substitute teaching gig going? Are the Zoomers behaving themselves, or are they not doing their homework? Very nihilistic lot that bunch, I don’t blame them, their lives are sadly screwed, the Boomers ruined everything for them!
>One of the great scenes in Breaking Bad with incredible acting from Jonathan Banks:
Totally agreed, and this is the scene I had in mind. When I watched Breaking Bad, I was far more fascinated with the character Mike Ehrmantraut than I was with Walter White.
(You get me, LSWM, you really get me.)
While I have never known this type intimately, I am close with people who have known this type, growing up in rough bars and such. This character actor resembles in many ways the writer “Christopher Hyatt” whom I have quoted here at length. Hyatt has the physiognomy of what I call the Low Status Jew “Bulldog”. You can see for yourself here:

Be on guard when you encounter this type. They will fuck your shit up.

Thanks for the tip.

More or less. I didn’t have Big Bird in mind, but I suppose that might fit. And yes, I will shoot you if you start being all Jewey and stuff.
>P.P.S. how is your substitute teaching gig going?
Not well. The kids are not alright. I do it as little as possible, just enough to keep my certifications active. I make most of my money from Amazon Flex.
Fuck this shit.

Someone killed Pickton in prison recently, was there for decades then, boom. I wonder just how bad the situation was for someone to silence him after all this time.
This will end soon, thankfully.
