I just asked my old high school calculator what 36756342.532 / 23542 is. It could arrive at an answer much faster than anyone I asked. Clearly this means it is smarter than us humans and Texas instruments should be valued at 1 trillion dollar. Well alright, not really, but you get my point.
I watched a documentary about bird nests. It mentions that computers are not able to design nests like birds do, with the strength and resilience of their nests. Humans can’t really do it either, at least not when we play fairly, that is, when we only grab branches and twigs that fit into a little bird’s beak.
Every animal has a brain optimized for different traits. A chimpanzee actually has superior memory to a human being. They beat us at memory games, due to a photographic memory. It seems at some point during evolution we had to sacrifice our memory skills to allow us to develop complex language.
Your brain is special, just like a bird’s brain is special. Zoom in far enough and your individual neurons are special too. We don’t know how the individual neurons work, they make use of quantum effects and we have no idea how their electrical activity relates to consciousness. We can’t even simulate the brain of the model organism, Caenorhabditis elegans. It has a total of 302 individual neurons. We can’t simulate their behavior.
When you look at the birds in the sky, they are special to you. To me they are of immeasurable value. Well, the Bible tells us that to God, we are of more value than many of the birds in the sky. This, despite all of us being fallible. It tells us that Jesus surrounded himself with people who were flawed.
It is the nature of modern industrial society that it tries to invert all the ancient spiritual wisdom. And so more than anything else, it seeks to persuade people that their existence is a banality. That is the ideology propagated by the men whose names you hear a lot on the news.
Don’t ever let anyone convince you of the satanic techbro gospel, the idea that your existence is a banality, something that ugly bald men with glasses could simulate on a computer. The reality is that you are special. And to God, each and every person you meet is special.
Our world can be a scary place to us, especially lately. But God loves us and we should just try to love each other. We don’t understand everything and we don’t have to. We will often fail to do the right thing. But what matters is that we try to do the right thing.
That piece of writing contrasts nicely with some of the ideas you’ve opined about recently. A bright vision moderated by a semi opaque lense.
Very nice.

Here is a fascinating list of evidence for the physical resurrection of Jesus:

Moreover the shroud of turin, which is impossible to be a fake, reinforces everything that is written in the gospels. That means, to me at least, everything Jesus said is true because he is the son of god. And everything else is wrong. Like Islam. BTW Jesus ate meat and drank (a little) wine! You cant go wrong with Jesus!
What’s reality? I don’t know. When my bird was looking at my computer monitor I thought, ‘That bird has no idea what he’s looking at.’ And yet what does the bird do? Does he panic? No, he can’t really panic, he just does the best he can. Is he able to live in a world where he’s so ignorant? Well, he doesn’t really have a choice. The bird is okay even though he doesn’t understand the world. You’re that bird looking at the monitor, and you’re thinking to yourself, ‘I can figure this out.’ Maybe you have some bird ideas. Maybe that’s the best you can do.

Amazing work, meditating on God and the beauty of his creation and really heal your soul
When you realize that you are more dead than alive, you can begin to appreciate life fully. Your body was not here for billions of years and will be gone for billions of years. For a few clicks consciousness arises in it and we think that is who we are.
Rin, I have commented rarely and only a few made it. As a HSWM that grew up poor, I feel for you and hope you can navigate these waters.
This post gives me some hope for you dude.
It is banal and unimpressive. But that makes it comfortable and easy. I do not have to worry if my city trip is REALLY that much amaaazing. It is mine and unique. And then I return home. Ha! I was there! And I saw everything! Or if I can cook well. Everybody likes what I cook. So should I care that I only know simple local cuisine? Simple things done right is what I and those at my table need. Banality is not evil at all. It is the glue between peasant days.
In short, it is like them bros say. But the bros lack the insight to cherish simplicity and immediate life. Look into modern software and you can see what I mean. Unix has a good philosophy. Do one thing at a time and do it well. Make interfaces and connections, for that the system will take care of its elements.
